The guest accommodations are rustic but very comfortable. All of the original buildings were built by hand between 1890 and 1950. Many have been rebuilt and restored with modern comforts like the Dinner Bell Cook House and the Old Elk Lodge. There are also four private cabins and a guesthouse. The lodge has a game room with a snooker table and darts.
Dining while staying at Smith Fork Ranch is a culinary experience. The ranch chefs plan meals that are healthy, appealing to the eye, and delicious. Fine cuisine prepared from game meats, trout and Western Colorado's fresh produce and fruits. The kitchen staff uses many natural and organically grown foods. Dining on the pavilion allows you to soak in the mountain atmosphere while enjoying a great meal with an excellent wine.
Whether you want to go fishing, riding, or hiking the Smith Park Ranch is your gateway to adventure. The activity staff at the ranch is experienced in all the activities available to help you set up your day to get the most out of it. Equipment, horses, and guides are always available.
You can enjoy fly-fishing on guided or unguided trips. Fishing options are available on the private ranch waters or the local river. Many trophy size trout have been caught by guest at Smith Fork Ranch. If you forgot to bring along your fishing gear the activity staff can help set you up with what you need.
Horseback riding is another great activity available. There are trail rides into green meadows and along the mountains. If you are a cowboy at heart there is also team penning on horseback, barrel racing and arena games. The experienced staff is available for the beginner rider to the more advanced rider.
Other activities available locally are tours of the Black Canyon National Park and tours of many of the local vineyards. Whitewater rafting and vintage bi-plane rides are available at an additional cost. Combined with the great seasonal temperatures and the breath taking scenery everyone will have a great time at Smith Fork Guest Ranch.
