Mid June to the third week in August, the ranch hosts families from across the country for summer vacations. The rest of the year the ranch is used for overnight conferences, retreats, and family reunions.

Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch sits on 3200 acres of great mountain land along the Big Thompson River. Guests have enjoyed the many activities available at this mountain paradise. Whether you are there on a family vacation or overnight conference a good time will be had by all.

Lodging at Sylvan Dale Ranch includes 26 lodging units that include cabins, guesthouses and lodge units. Many have fireplaces and mini fridges. No telephones or televisions are in the room to provide you with the get away from it all atmosphere. These items can be put in the rooms if requested though.

The cabins all have private baths, air conditioning, and a covered porch to relax on and take in the mountain scenery. The beds are queen sized with single beds in some rooms. At night, you will drift off to sleep with the rolling sounds of the Big Thompson River right outside your window. There are duplex cabins where you can rent both sides for the family or rent only one for a single couple.

The Wagon Wheel Bunkhouse is a two-story lodge decorated in an old west theme. Each room has a queen or twin beds and private baths. Some of the rooms have adjoining doors for families that want to stay close. In the common area, you will find a kitchen, sitting area and a fireplace. The common area also has a stage and room for meetings, which is great for retreats, meetings, and large families.

The Big Thompson Suite is located in the original J-Lodge. There is a queen and twin bed in each bedroom. A large sitting area and private bath are also included. The large porch overlooks the Big Thompson River.

The Homestead Guest House has three bedrooms with queen or double beds. There is also a pullout bed for an extra person. This suite sleeps up to six people and has a spacious living area to gather in. There is also a fireplace and outside patio.

Momma J's Guest House sits next to a beautiful pond surrounded by willow trees. It has four bedrooms with either queen or twin beds. There are also fold out beds in the living room for extra guests. There is a great view from the window-lined living room. It also has an old-fashioned pot bellied wood burning stove. You can spend evenings on the screened in porch, outside deck or porch.

Meeting facilities at Sylvan Dale ranch includes three modern meeting rooms. Both the Heritage and the J-Lodge have unlimited wireless Internet access. Audiovisual equipment is available upon request. Meeting rooms include theatre style seating that accommodates from 20 to 80 people according to the room selected.

Horseback riding includes many choices of activities. They range from breakfast rides to moonlight rides. There are also overnight pack trips for the more adventure-seeking guests. The staff at Sylvan Dale Ranch is well experienced with horses and will help guest select the right horse for the beginning rider to the more experienced rider.

Meals at the ranch range from formal dining to cookouts. All meals are prepared with health in mind with a western flair. If you have special dietary, needs you can inform the staff before arrival and they are more than willing to accommodate.
