Colorado Springs Bookstores: Poor Richard's

A Great Used Bookstore for Students to Find Low Cost Textbooks

Allen Bell
Located in downtown Colorado Springs is a great used bookstore. It is actually more than just a bookstore. Many recent renovations and additions have been made. It is one of the oldest and finest used bookstores in Colorado Springs first established in 1975.

Poor Richard's complex is made up of four different venues. They range from an organic café, a toy store, a coffeehouse and wine bar with live entertainment, and a used bookstore. It is a great place to hang out at on a rainy afternoon browsing the shelves that contain a variety of books. They also have a large selection of used textbooks at great prices for local college students to select from.

The used bookstore contains thousands of books and book related gifts. They also have a collection of unique journals for the writer in you. The categories of books are far to numerous to mention. They also carry a large collection of best sellers and new books.

The café included at Poor Richard's has a wide selection of organic goodies. The selections also range from New York style hand tossed pizza to their create-your-own salad of which you select from a wide variety of fresh ingredients. There is also a large selection of homemade soups to go along with your salad or to eat by itself. They offer a healthy, additive free low fat menu. Sandwiches are always a favorite by visitors to the café. They are served on Great Harvest Honey whole wheat or La Baguette French Bread. You can dine inside or outside on the sidewalk patio and enjoy the downtown view.

Little Richard's Toy Store makes up another part of the Poor Richard's complex. The staff is always ready to help you pick out the perfect toy for your child. Many toys at the store are aimed at fostering the imagination, creativity, and cognitive development. Little Richard's toy store's inventory of toys is too numerous to mention.

Rico's Café, Chocolate and Wine Bar rounds up the complex at Poor Richard's. Choices range from European coffee and espressos to fresh pastries and breads. They also offer freshly made fruit smoothies and gourmet iced and hot teas. Live entertainment is also provided on certain days at Rico's. The entertainment ranges from Jazz to poetry reading.
