The content of their characters overwhelmingly speak
The heavy burdens of the past are only a reminder of the way things use to be
Crossing Northern and Southern lines are now relatively easy
And overcoming adversity has taken on a deeper meaning
Freedom in every aspect is present so there is no need for daydreaming
Heavens smiling and angels are singing
Human rights are guaranteed so there is no need for resistance training
There is no tolerance here for name calling or stereotypical blaming
It may be hard to imagine now but this is the place
Where the man and woman in the mirror is not made to feel disgraced
And despite the characteristics of everyone's face
Colorless is now used to define someone's race

If only this sentiment was shared universally. It would be lovely.
Ah yes... but only by the enlightened. Sadly, the truth of the last line is still far from being universally shared.
