ColorOfChange V. Glenn Beck

Several Weeks Ago, ColorOfChange Launched a Campaign to Get Advertisers to Drop Beck's Show.

Not long ago, ColorOfChange.org launched a petition in response to comments made by Glenn Beck as a guest on the Fox and Friends show.

"This president has exposed himself as a guy over and over and over again who has a deep-seated hatred for white people ... this guy is, I believe, a racist."

Since the petitions beginning, it's seen tremendous success. Self-described as a voice for Black America, they started their efforts in response to those quotes. But that's not the only reason you might want to add your name to the list.

Mr. Beck has been involved in several controversial incidents. His show is a cesspool of minority-bashing, whether of race, religious beliefs, or lifestyle choices. He is downright condescending on his call-in show, and frequently resorts to shouting and kicking people off the line. For far too long, he's gotten away with blatant lying and manipulation of his audience. A specific example was his attempt to smear cars.gov, the site for the government's Cash for Clunkers program, as a site that would attack and takeover your computer. He neglected to mention that the site he was showing wasn't actually the consumer website.

That's just one of the countless incidents of his behavior. If his clear racism isn't enough to entice you to sign on, perhaps that is.

Since it's inception, the petition has succeeded in getting the following companies to drop ad campaigns:

NexisLexis (of Lawyers.com)
Procter and Gamble
Progressive Insurance
GEICO
Sargento
Men's Wearhouse

These still remain:

lifelock.com
Wells Fargo
Safetouch Security Systems
Stanley Steamer
AT&T
Midas
Security Investors sipc.org
Dish Network
Safelight Autoglass
BP Gas
Carbonite.com
Advanced Auto Parts
FreeCreditReport.com
866-Goldline
Identity Guard
incomeathome.com
Select Comfort
Angie's List
STP Oil
WebX.com

That's far too many. I encourage everyone reading this to sign on.

(Note: There's also evidence that several of these companies may be having their ads displayed illegally by FOX News. Both Procter and Gamble and Progressive Insurance have stated that their ads were never supposed to air during the show.)

Support ColorOfChange.org, bring sanity to the airwaves.
