Colour My Fate is a flash animation puzzle game created by Newgrounds.com user SilverStitch. The main theme for the game is titled Colour my FATE by Newgrounds.com user liluxiaorealnew. This sequel was submitted to Newgrounds.com on Christmas Day, 2009 and won a daily feature award on December 26, 2009, as well as a weekly fifth-place award on December 29, 2009. The latest author-posted update was on January 9, 2010. The new update includes fixed medals, a walkthrough link in-game, and updated features.

Game Background

It's almost Christmas, and you still don't have a gift for your special someone. Explore and color the world around you to bring Christmas into this black-and-white world.

Gameplay

Like its predecessors, Colour My Fate involves walking around the black-and-white world and clicking on different objects to add color to the world. However, unlike the previous games, Colour My Fate requires you to collect ornaments in order to activate some of the buttons.

As usual, the objects that can be clicked will have flashing sparkles next to them. The black sparkles can be clicked without the aid of additional ornaments. The colored sparkles, on the other hand, can only be clicked on if you have the corresponding ornament. For example, to click on a yellow sparkle, you will need a yellow ornament. Ornaments are scattered throughout the game and can be collected simply by touching them.

At the top-right of the screen, you can see a string that can be clicked. Clicking on this string opens up a drop-down inventory. In your inventory, you can toggle the game music. You can also view the ornaments you have already collected.

Medals can be earned based on your in-game performance.

Game Controls

Use arrow keys or WASD to move around.

Game Review

Colour My Fate is a creative, interactive flash-based world that is perfect for the holiday season. It is more extensive than its predecessors and provides more of a challenge than the previous games did, a welcome change to the first few games. Even with the extended gameplay, the game still manages to create a calming experience that will both soothe your soul and tug at your heartstrings. As usual, the game music plays a major role in creating this atmosphere. Also, the drawings are sweet and simple, reminiscent of a child's daydreaming sketches, adding to the game's tender qualities.

Colour My Fate scores an 8/10 for its creativity and interactiveness. Its replay value is also high, though may not be as high as its predecessors, due to its longer gameplay. Though it is a holiday-themed game, Colour My Fate can easily retain its high entertainment value throughout the year.
