1) Colts-Titans Head to Head
Thursday's primetime game features a match-up between two familiar foes in the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. This is a must-win game for both teams, as time is running out for either team to make a late-season charge. Since 2005, the division rivals have encountered 10 times with the Colts leading 7-3. Indianapolis has, over the years, thoroughly dominated Tennessee as evident in some pretty lopsided results. The last time the two teams meet was in 2009; the Colts won that game 27-17.
2) Peyton Manning vs. Kerry Collins
The first NFL game of Week 14 pits future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Peyton Manning against veteran backup QB Kerry Collins. After enjoying a solid start to the season, Manning and the Indianapolis are enduring a tough stretch during which the Super Bowl winning quarterback has performed poorly. For the season, Manning has accumulated 3709 passing yards, 24 TDs, and a QB rating of 89. Kerry Collins, who has only made a handful of starts this season, has to date amassed 807 passing yards, 5 touchdowns, and a low QB rating of 68. Statistically speaking, Peyton Manning is a much better quarterback this season than Tennessee's Collins.
3) Jim Caldwell vs. Jeff Fisher

Both Indianapolis and Tennessee come into this pivotal division contest in poor form. The Colts has lost three in a row, and the Titans is on a 5-game losing streak. Jim Caldwell's team has been plagued by injuries to key offensive and defensive players. This has had a crippling effect on the Colts' offense, resulting in costly interceptions and turnovers. In point of fact, Peyton Manning has uncharacteristically thrown a least 3 interceptions in each of the last three games. Yet, Indianapolis remains a potent team that is capable of beating any NFL opponent. The team will be a heavy favorite against the struggling Tennessee Titans.
After starting the season with a 5-2 record, Tennessee is currently on a long losing streak that is at times embarrassing. The Titans' biggest problem this year has been the uncertainty in the quarterback situation. Vince Young, who was Tennessee's starting QB earlier in the season, lost the starting position after a fallout with coach Jeff Fisher. The problem is compounded by the fact that the Titans' two backup quarterbacks, Kerry Collins and Rusty Smith, have performed poorly in Young's absence. Collins is expected to start in this game, but his effectiveness will be a big question mark. Tennessee is unlikely to win another game this season, until the quarterback situation is finally sorted out.
My prediction for the 2010 NFL Thursday Night Football game between the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans: the Colts beat the home side 24-17. Kickoff time for the game is 8:20 PM EST. The game is played at LP Field, and will be broadcast by NFL Network.
