COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The eagerly anticipated date and new venue for the Craftin' Outlaws 2009 alternative craft fair in Columbus, Ohio, has just been announced via the Craftin' Outlaws website, mailing list, and other local media and news outlets and social networking sites. This year's craft fair date will be October 17th, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and the new location will be the Lodge Bar, located at 165 Vine Street in the popular Arena District.

This will be the fifth year for the Craftin' Outlaws event, an artsy celebration of the burgeoning DIY crafting scene, which was conceptualized and organized by local craftster Liz Rozino in 2005. This year, several other crafty local ladies are also on board as organizers to help make the latest incarnation of this great alternative craft fair a smoothly smashing success.

Previous year's incarnations of Craftin' Outlaws have taken place at various unique local bars, including Skully's in the Short North and BOMA (Bar of Modern Art) in downtown Columbus, which was the venue for last year's event. Last year's Craftin' Outlaws showcased 6o different vendors plus food, games, and arts & crafts demos and drew thousands of shoppers, who could amble up to the bar for a luscious libation and then browse the multifaceted assortment of distinctive wares.

Of course, the main focus of the Craftin' Outlaws alternative craft fair is the crafts and art. A diverse and quirky plethora of homemade and hand-designed goodies exhibiting independent artisan style and delicious DIY flair, the kind of delightful wares on display at an alternative craft fair range from attire to paper goods to handcrafted bath and body products to peculiar plushies to one-of-a-kind jewelry to mixed media masterpieces, and much more. Since every year's event is different, there are sure to be a few special surprises in store, too.

Vendor applications are now being accepted for this year's event, available via the Craftin' Outlaws website. If you'd like your arts or crafts to be considered for a table at this year's show, submit your application and vendor fee by July 31 (if your artsy enterprise is not selected as a participant, then the fee will be refunded). The Craftin' Outlaws organizers are also currently in the process of seeking out and lining up sponsors for this year's event. More details on that can be found on the website, too.

Whether you'd like to experience Craftin' Outlaws as a vendor or as a shopper or maybe even both, artsy crafty Columbus locals should mark their calendars now for October 17, 2009.
