Aside from getting tired, your body will get used to the exercise you are doing thus, it will be a lot easier for you after a few weeks. However, it may become too easy for you that you practically aren't exerting enough effort anymore. Some signs are a lot less sweat from an aerobic exercise, heart rate not fast enough and weight training that is becoming too light. You may increase resistance but to make your workout more interesting, try to change the routines or combine different routines from different workouts.
I've been working out for years and have used several routines and weight loss programs. Some of them I just created myself, especially for weight training. I also use exercise videos for my cardio workout and so far, I've used Turbo Jam and I also apply the workouts done by Girls Generation: a popular singing group from South Korea. The routines are for men and women who are short of time. The workout isn't difficult and can be done almost anywhere. Sometimes, I just dance until I sweat hard. It's a very interesting cardio workout. But for my overall training, I am using P90X.
I did Turbo Jam for more than 4 months and yes, it became really boring. I started to feel sleepy during the workout. Don't get me wrong though. The video is good and it is very lively. It's just that I was doing it everyday. Unfortunately, I stopped doing it altogether. That was around 2 years ago.
Today, I'm doing P90X. There are rest days in the program and the rest of the days I follow to a T. For those rest days, I try to do the Girls Generation workout and sometimes, I switch P90X's AB Ripper X to Turbo Jam's AB Jam. Tony Horton said, not the exact words, that change is good for the body. I agree with that.
Also, if you're into straight weight training, what worked for me a few years ago was to change the routines every week. For example, this week I'm doing more bench presses for my chest. Next week, I'll do more push ups. The following week, I'll do another one. I always try to do as many as I can. I'll usually repeat the routines but I mix it a lot to add variety to my training.
So, you want to make your workouts interesting? Do some changes. Changing resistance levels or increasing the duration of your workouts may not be enough. Sparking your interest in continuing your workouts can be fueled by a drastic change in routine. You can just mix different routines from different workouts for variety. But the most important thing is that you remain consistent in your workout.
