Come Celebrate the 2010 Faerie Festival at Neopets!

Even though the official Neopets calendar says that the Faerie Festival doesn't start until September 20^th, the portal is offering a free item for you to collect before the event actually opens. Last year there were some great prizes given away; be sure to hit the portal every day for your free item. So far I have collected two prizes, the first was a Pikus (Faerie Petpet) and the second a Magaral (also a Faerie Petpet). Last year there was a special section for the Faerie Festival on the message boards; there is no mention of whether it will be active again this year.

Things in the NC Mall have already adopted a faerie feel; you can get these items to celebrate the festival however the sale items may not be around for all that long. "Darkest Faerie Dress", "Faerieland Fence", "Faerieland Library Background", "Floating Jhudora Faerie Doll", "Faerie Mystery Capsule" and the "Faerie Doll Mystery Capsule". There are more faerie themed items up for sale, be sure to check the NC Mall under the Specialty / Faerie section.

You never know what the Neopet Faeries are going to have in store for the festival so you need to stay on top of the new events if you are someone that likes to hoard items that are selling cheap. Last year certain faerie themed items were selling way below the market value but they did rebound. "Fyoras Elixir" was one of the items given out last year and you could find it for 200 NP or less on the Shop Wizard; now the price is well over 800 NP but because it is classified as a Special item (Magic Item) it is a little more rare than things that are sold in the Neopet shops.

So far the Key Quest board hasn't taken on a Faerie theme but you never know if the prizes may change for the festival. After just ending the summer promotion and going back to the usual junk prizes it would be nice to see some faerie themed things pop up when you redeem keys. I have opted to put my Key Quest Project on hold for a few weeks until they rotate in the Halloween prizes in October.
