Come, Dreamer, Wake

Cary Chrysler (We Who Dream)
I am the dreamer.
Dreaming of exile, escape from but a single deed,
that I never did.

Yet in this terrible guilt,
in this selfbranding too ugly for holding,
holding in this body I made;
I made others outside me.

Now can I project my guilt outward,
no longer in mind, but out there.

I am the dreamer.
Made the world a cause,
forgot it is but effect.

I am no runner,
no fugitive from angry skies.
I am not the slayer of gods.

I am the dreamer.
The world I see, I made;
the outer picture of my own inner condition.

Yet through dreams of attack,
I hear my Self call to me...for he is with me always.

"My brother, what you thought you saw,
was never there." *

Thus is my mind healed.
Thus have I always been home.

* A Course In Miracles.
