For those individuals who enjoy nature Baltimore offers a variety of places to stroll and peruse without emptying your pockets. Baltimore is home to a variety of parks. There is the Cylburn Arboretum which is a large park that is home to a mansion and a variety of rare plants and trees and it even has a trial to stroll or ride your bike along while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Likewise, there are a number of public parks such as Druid Hill Park, Federal Hill Park and Patterson Park which during the summer months hold a variety of events and festivals that are free to the public. There is even a trial called The Gwynns Falls Trail that spans 15 miles and is perfect for bikers who want to enjoy biking and a beautiful green landscape for free!

If you are an art lover or a history buff there Baltimore offers many free things to do in these areas also. There are a number of museums and art exhibits that you can enjoy for free. The Baltimore Museum of Art offers free entrance for everyone thanks to grants from Baltimore City, Baltimore County and various private funds and endowments.

Fells Point, a neighborhood in Baltimore, is known for its art galleries and gatherings and usually has free events that people can participate in. For the history buffs that are many historical sites that you can enjoy in Baltimore for no money out of pocket. Baltimore is home to many firsts such as the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary which is one of the first major churches in a metropolitan area.

You can also climb the Washington Monument, the first monument made to commemorate the first President of the United States. Most importantly what would visiting Baltimore be without visiting the gravesite of the poet Edgar Allen Poe the writer of the poem The Raven which is name of Baltimore's football team! So history buffs and art lovers can also find many free things to indulge in throughout Baltimore.

Finally, for those looking to experience a variety of free staples of Baltimore you are in luck. Baltimore is home to one of the oldest seaports in the country. The Inner Harbor is a great place to stroll along and enjoy the glistening harbor water, cool breezes and harbor attractions.

There are a number of markets which includes Baltimore's weekly farmers markets and a number public markets that are free to enter that offer fabulous cooked foods, fresh fruit and vegetables and fresh seafood and even free entertainment.
