The following list includes many of the activities available during Winterfest, their costs and the hours of operation.
Winterfest Ice Rink
Bundle up and have a blast as you glide across the sleek frozen ice, while holiday tunes enhance the season. Ice skating is an event the whole family will enjoy.
When: Nov. 26 - Jan. 2, 2011
Sun. - Thurs., 11am - 8pm
Fri. - Sat., 11am - 10pm
Special hours: Dec. 24 closes at 4pm, Dec 25 closed, Dec 31 closes at 11:30pm.
Where: located in the Fisher Pavilion
Cost: $7 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, $2 children ages 5 and under, includes skate rental.
Winter Train and Village
You can be the conductor and drive a turn of the century train through a miniature turn of the century village.
When: Nov. 26 - Dec. 31, 10am - 7pm
Where: Center House
Cost: free, although a $2.00 donation is appreciated.
Members of the public have a chance to drive the turn of the century train between 10:30am - 12:30pm, 1:30pm - 3:30pm and 4:30pm - 6:30pm daily.
Fireside Singing
Warm up around the crackling bonfire and join the Folksingers as they fill the air with traditional and contemporary holiday songs.
When: Saturdays, Nov. 27, Dec. 4, 11, 18, 5pm - 7pm
Where: outside of the Fisher Pavilion
Cost: free
Ice Sculpting
Watch as award winning artists create glistening sculptures with ice, or return later to view their works of ice sculpted art.
When: Saturdays, Nov. 27, Dec. 4, 11, 18, 12 noon - 2pm
Where: outside of the Fisher Pavilion
Cost: free
The Winterfest Premier Events include live entertainment such as: orchestra performances, big band dancing and smooth jazz music. Grab a dance partner and join in the fun. For even more entertainment, you can take in a live show of magic, physical feats, multicultural celebrations and international art.
'Tis the season to be jolly, so get away from it all and have a glorious time at Winterfest this holiday season!
Tips: Be sure to dress warm, wear comfortable shoes and don't forget to bring a camera!
