Come What May

An Introduction and Poetic Song

ArraiEl
Here's a poem/song that's about a woman who wins the heart of the man of her dreams but because of the tactics she used to get him, she's very insecure about his love for her and becomes very jealous of any female who comes around him or works with him. One day he brings a beautiful young woman home as a 'surprise' to his wife who'd never met his daughter but always said she wanted to. Without her knowledge he brings the daughter home. The wife catches them in a bear hug embrace in the kitchen and she spews forth all the most hateful and nasty things she can think of.

When she is finished, the husband walks up to her and puts his face up to hers and says tersely, "This is my daughter! I just found her after all these years. I brought her here as a surprise because you said you always wanted to meet her if I ever located her."

The wife is stunned, in shock and speechless and numbly watches her husband pack a few things. On the way out the door, he turns to her in a farewell and says, in a quiet rage,

"My daughter helped me pick out the flowers. (he pointed to the dining room table) I knew you were jealous. And my friends kept telling me how bad it was. I didn't believe them. When I was told by several of my secretaries how you used your wicked lies and jealous hatred to get rid of them by using me I didn't believe them either. I do now. You'll hear from my attorney this week." And walked out, the daughter looking back at her in total shock as well, being pulled along by her father.

I personally have never been the jealous type but have been on the 'receiving' end of women like her. A lot! It just came to me one day and this is what came of it.

Come what may... Enjoy! Live! Laugh! Love!

Come What May

I toss and turn...alone in our bed

My heart weeps ...tears of regret

The scent of you...I sink deep within

Inhaling the memories...before they end

Scenes of anger...rips and taunts!

Ghost of a love...forever haunts

I scream your name..to the moon above!

Moon whispers back...you killed true love!

Do the stars care...so high aloft?

The love I had...was won and now lost

My aching soul...crying out for him

Jealousy's fire...regrettable whim

[Refrain]

O' silent moon...pearl in the sky

Did you hear...my loves' dying sigh?

The light of my life...has left me here

My jealousy shattered...our love so dear

My words of hate...put love at bay

I must trust in love...come what may

I deeply regret...the words spoken then

what we had...now a fading dream

A voice in the dark...screams out in pain!

Can a broken heart be heard...crying in this rain?

O silent moon..shining down on me

I forever regret...those words of jealousy

The dawning light...slowly creeps near

My pillow is wet...with a river of tears

Shed for my love...lost forever and a day

Heated words of hate..what did I say?

It seems I lost...something so real

How can I go on...my future unclear

[Refrain]

O' silent moon...pearl in the sky

Did you hear...my loves' dying sigh?

The light of my life...has left me here

My jealousy shattered...our love so dear

My words of hate...put love at bay

I must trust in love...come what may

If I survive this...to see another day

The lessons I learned...love never forsakes!

In my soul, my heart...they silently write

Never let the fires...of jealousy light!

Only those we love...feel the flames of hate!

Those ugly words...regretted too late

The moon slowly sets...and the sun rises

Will my life, my world....ever survive this?

To the approaching dawn...just another day

To jealous hearts...Fate can't escape

Oceans of love...ebb and flow

Star-crossed lovers...come and go

[Refrain]

O' silent moon...pearl in the sky

Did you hear...my loves' dying sigh?

The light of my life...has left me here

My jealousy shattered...our love so dear

My words of hate...put love at bay

I must trust in love...come what may
