Come onto My House Part Four

Poem

Kady Birdwhistle
Come onto my house!
Come on!
Watch Kady upon her computer
Writing nutty poetry
Throwing away poetic license
Tony making quesadillas
And the oven burns and roars
Rosemary Clooney music blares
"Come onto my house!!!"
I jitterbug on Hindu carpet
From Peace Nook Store in Columbia
I'll jitterbug better than Shirley Temple
When she was little bobbysoxxer
In those teenage years
Come onto my house!
Come on!
Tony has the rubric down to Stayin' Alive
Kady scours the yellow pages
Looking for new jobs that can happen
Relax with Midnight the black cat
And Daffodil the stuffed Giraffe
The Sunday paper always lives
On top of the 13 inch television
Grab a book from my shelf
Read some Oscar Wilde tonight
Don't step in the oil paints strewn
Across the beige carpeting
Kady fancies herself an artist
Though she can't paint at all
Come onto my house!
Come on!
Play Sally, the Alvarez guitar
Touch her strings and she does sing
Try some Delilah by the Plain White T's
Spin around and sing sing sing
Le Chat hangs in the room
Working on cabarets of 18th century
Take some family pictures of all of us
You and me and everyone everyone
Come onto my house!
Come on!
I'll buy you ice cream!

This is a very personal part of my life, as all my poetry is. The Come Onto My House Poetry was inspired by Rosemary Clooney's song Come Onto My House. It gives me a way to give you more of a look into my little life. I've done about three other poems like this one, and frankly I have alot of fun doing thm. There are not really poems but more like a diary. And I'm really trying to get away from the diary and trying write more seriously, but I HAD to write this. I will do more of these and I pray you like the Come Onto My House series, because it is all 100 percent, just like all the rest of my poetry is. This is me!

Better late than never...I finally made it t your house.

Glad that Tony is an enthusiastic cook. Wow...you are a moving temple, and a testimony that U may be looking for jobs and yet, happy. It's your great attitude, that life muts be lived, despite what is to be done tomorrow. You are multi-tasking, and yet being a brave, kind global citizen.

Read my article (latest) on FREE VERSE. I hope to hear if it is helpful/useful.
