"Live in Manitoba" Campaign Set to Launch

Manitoba invites you to come and explore its bounties. Come to Manitoba for a vacation or better yet to set up shop and live here. Manitoba is one of Canada's provinces where buying a home is still affordable, where places of interests and holiday beaches are as close as half hour away from the perimeter or spectacular fishing and lake front cottages are about 2-4 hours away from the main city center.

A Recently formed private council named Manitoba Promotion Council has the blessing of the Honorable Andrew Swan, Minister of Competitiveness Training and Trade. This Council aims to make Manitoba a household name in North America if they have their way.

According to a government press release dated November 6, 2008, "The Manitoba Promotion Council is composed of business and Labour volunteers who will work with both the private and public sectors in the promotion of the province. The council's national print advertising campaign will begin Nov. 8 and will run in national and regional newspapers and magazines across Canada. Additional advertising will continue in the spring of 2009 with a 30‑second television commercial to be aired across the country. The campaign will be supported by a website at www.livingmanitoba.ca that will contain information about living, investing and visiting in Manitoba."

Mr. Bob Silver, a Co-Chair of the Premier of Manitoba Economic Advisory Council said, "We are very pleased to support the council's efforts to promote our great province to the rest of Canada," said Swan. "This new group is made up of people who are invested in promoting Manitoba and they will continue to help us remain competitive by leading the overall promotion of our province's image."

The Council will soon launch this more than $2million television, radio and print advertising campaign to put Manitoba on the map and attract its share of tourist and to encourage Manitobans to explore their own province as an alternative to costly vacations abroad.

Manitoba is the home of lily white polar bears, tasty pickerel, and spectacular vegetation from flat prairie land to rolling hills. It has a plethora of well serviced Provincial Parks such as the Riding Mountain National Park, which dramatically leaps up from the flat Prairie landscape like a beacon. It is part of the Manitoba Escarpment with an abundance of wildlife and offers up great hiking trails for the outdoors person.

The best thing about Manitoba is that many of the areas of interest to tourists, great beaches, great fishing holes, and the peace and quiet of the country side are within easy distance from the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba's capital. And the best of all, things here are pretty cheap comparatively speaking and the friendship Manitoba offers its tourist, well that comes without cost.
