If you are looking to get scared -- this is the place to go.
Set up and run by area college students and actors, they don't just slap together some dry ice and skeletons to make a show -- they spend all year choreographing and preparing to scare the pants off of guests who come to the Haunting.
In the summer months, they advertise for live auditions for people who want to give their try at being an actor for the Haunting.
There is typically two different events they host, they have the actual haunting which is set up inside an agriculture building and takes about thirty minutes for guests to go all the way through. In the past there have been scenes right out of the popular horror movies like "Halloween" and "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Of course the typical dark skinny catacombs you have to search through to get out is a given, but the theatrical effects such as levitation scenes and 3D effects is what keeps local fans coming back year after year. The realistic, special effects make it seem like you are part of the scenes. The Haunting has won awards for being the best haunted house attraction year after year in the state of Michigan.
There is also a corn maze outside of the haunting for those who "chicken out" from hearing all the screams and ghoulish sounds. Or of course for those little ones who may be too scared to venture in.
The Haunting opens up in the early evening and runs weekly. The lines can be very long so be prepared to wait. The attraction moves slow and the turnout of teenagers and people ready to get their "thrills on" is increasing each year.
All children under the age of twelve must accompany an adult through this attraction. If you have any heart problems or scare very easily, please rethink or use caution when entering this attraction. With the life-like qualities, it can really freak some people out.
Many people travel out of state to see this haunted attraction. If you live in the area, it's worth it to come and stop by. What better way to get into the holiday spirit? The ghouls and ghosts will be waiting.
