Lamar Williams is an up and coming comic from New York City. At only twenty-eight years of age, Mr. Williams is still a newbie to the comedy circuit, working small comedy clubs and colleges across the United States.
While attending Brockport College in New York, Lamar began his career in stand-up comedy by working at a local club. Mr. Williams's credits now include being chosen to attend the "2005 Las Vegas Comedy Festival." He was one of the club comic picks for the "Laugh Across America" comedy contest. Lamar Williams has also performed his comedy routine for the troops in Iraq.
At only twenty-eight years of age, Lamar Williams is not only funny, but also possesses great likeability. The smile on his face is nearly constant. Even when Mr. Williams has an awkward pause during his act, his personality shines through as to not bother the audience. His jokes along with his charm will make him popular with all types of audiences. He is sure to make major waves in the comedy business in upcoming years.
Lamar Williams likes to joke about ordinary things in life. He has just taken a unique look at them and he shares his perspective with his audiences. His comedy act covers many topics, such as sports, sports fans, sunscreen, ethanol, alcohol, pyramids, and what it is like to be a black man. Lamar's fans claim that he says what everyone else is thinking.
I recently witnessed Lamar Williams perform his act at the Comedy Caravan in Louisville, Kentucky. I was thoroughly impressed with his routine for such a young stand-up comic. Mr. Williams was the opening act, but his comedy is sure to make him a headliner in the near future. He did get a bit flustered with some hecklers in the audience, but he pulled through okay.
A handsome black man, he can act as eye candy for female audiences. Lamar Williams is humorous enough to keep the male audiences happy as well. An interesting fact about the young comic that makes him unique from most others in the business is he neither smokes nor drinks alcohol. He has a few jokes about this fact.
I would recommend checking out Lamar Williams if he appears at a comic club near you. To learn more about Lamar Williams, you can check out his myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/lamarwilliams).
