Comfort Clothes

(Strands in the Sands)

Linda Ann Nickerson
Here I sit,
Looking down,
As the satin waves unfold
On the wide velvet band,
Wrinkled by the lapping
Of the waves
And the breeze -
I love the beach.

At times,
I can hear the voice
Of the Master:

"Let the silken sands
Wrap your tired feet.
Fling yourself
Into the folds
Of the waters.
These are My vestments,
The fabrics of My world.
Solomon, in all his glory,
Was never so arrayed."

"Yet I tell you that
not even Solomon
in all his splendor
was dressed like one of these."
(Matthew 6:29)
