Sunlight dotted the highway ahead. We had no warning of the approaching storm. As we continued, the storm clouds surrounded us.
Bailey is terrified of loud noises. Thunder clapped around the car as the windshield wipers slapped against the windshield.
I tried to hold him, offer him comfort, but my little Westie continued to pull away from me. He shook from fear.
The rain turned into hail as my husband pulled to the side of the road. However, try as I might, Bailey continued to pull away from me.
We sat along side the road with the other travelers, waiting for the wind and hail to subside. I watched in horror as my puppy continued to shake from fear.
He could have relaxed in my arms. I would not let anything hurt him.
That storm reminded me of the many times I've been like Bailey. Afraid of the storm in my life. All I had to do was climb into His arms.
Isaiah 51:12 I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid....
As the storm passed, Bailey quickly jumped back onto my lap. Content that all was again well. However, he could have been content all through the storm.
Just like me.
