Comfort Inn Gold Coast Review

Three Nights in Ocean City, Maryland

Beth Benson
Three nights at the Comfort Inn Gold Coast Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland was a three heart experience. The Comfort Inn was located on 112th Street off of the Coastal Highway in Ocean City. My boyfriend and I stayed on the second floor by the bay and only had to walk two blocks to the beach and the gorgeous Atlantic Ocean.

Our hotel room was clean and tidy. Two double beds neatly made along with four fluffy pillows on each bed. Both beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was complete with fresh bath towels, hand towels, and wash cloths, as well as complimentary shampoo and conditioner. There was also a hair dryer in the bathroom; however the hair dryer over heated very quickly. The shower itself barely had any water pressure and would toggle between scalding hot water and freezing cold water.

The room also included a refrigerator and microwave. The refrigerator was quite big, however the freezer portion desperately needed defrosted. Above the refrigerator there was a small sink with ice bucket. But, you would want to go to another floor to use the ice machine; the second floor ice machine is broken.

The room also included a large television with about forty cable channels, as well as a six drawer dresser and nightstand.

The Comfort Inn is connected to a Denny's Restaurant, which in turn states that the Comfort Inn does not offer a continental breakfast, but there is a coffee machine and coffee within the rooms. But just a warning, do not follow the coffee maker instructions, the picture directions are not drawn appropriately.

If you are not looking to have a meal at Denny's and just want to grab a quick snack, the lobby of the Comfort Inn includes a small convenient store with ice cream, drinks, and snacks. The lobby also is furnished with beautiful lighting, several sofas, and tables even a television.

An indoor pool, hot tub, and exercise room is also within the hotel. The exercise room has one treadmill, two stair stepper machines, and an exercise bike. I only tried the exercise bike. The bike worked, but the calorie burner display was broken. We didn't get a chance to try the hot tub, but did spend time in the pool. The pool was a fairly decent size with depth ranging from three feet to six feet. Tables and chairs were scattered around the pool and there was a rack of fresh clean towels available.

There are doors leading out onto a deck with many lawn chairs, tables, and umbrellas looking out on the bay, which was very convenient for sun bathing.

The housekeepers were very nice and very efficient. We called once for clean towels and they were delivered to us within five minutes of our call. The housekeepers were very respectful in obeying the 'do not disturb' sign if posted on the door. They did leave a message on our hotel room phone in regards to not being able to enter due to the sign.

The total cost of the Comfort Inn for two adults in a non smoking, two double bed room was $139 per night. If you want a king size bed, the price jumps up to around $160 per night.

In my opinion this is a very nice hotel, with just a few things needing to be tended to, but all and all I highly request staying at this hotel, and I would definitely stay there on my next visit to Ocean City, Maryland.
