Comfort Suites Indianapolis South: Nice Hotel, Reasonably Priced

Emily Harmon
When searching for a hotel in the Indianapolis area I was overwhelmed with the options. Amenities, prices, and locations were all over the board. I finally settled on Comfort Suites Indianapolis South. The Comfort Suites Indianapolis South was reasonably priced, almost to the point that I was skeptical. Fortunately, this hotel was a pleasant surprise.

Comfort Suites Indianapolis South is located about 7 miles south of the Indianapolis city center. Located just off of Interstate 65, Comfort Suites Indianapolis South has easy access to the city and all of the touristy places, sports venues, and other attractions.

Comfort Suites Indianapolis South is a newer hotel, opened in 2008. While the name indicates suites, I'm not sure I would really call the rooms suites. They are indeed spacious and boast a pull-out sofa, chair, coffee table, and small work desk. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave. The space that the king sized bed is in is quite small, with a chest of drawers and an LCD television mounted above it. While I wouldn't really call the rooms at Comfort Suites Indianapolis South suites per se, they are very nice rooms. They are spacious enough to not feel cramped, are very clean, and well decorated. The lovely granite-like shower and sink in the bathroom and in-room coffee maker are nice additions.

Comfort Suites Indianapolis South offers a free continental breakfast for guests. Available at the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South breakfast were cold cereals, oatmeal packets, apples, oranges, and bananas, a few pastries, donuts, and muffins, and hot eggs and sausage patties for making breakfast sandwiches. Milk, coffee, tea, and two kinds of juice were also available. The Comfort Suites Indianapolis South continental breakfast was pretty tasty and a nice amenity.

Since we were traveling to the area with our 3 year old son, we took advantage of the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South indoor swimming pool. The pool was clean, with plenty of seating around it, and towels available. The pool was heated, though still pretty chilly. The pool at the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South was very tiny. When we visited there were four adults and three children in the pool. No more people could have possibly fit in the pool and been comfortable. Many backyard pools are larger than the indoor pool at the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South.

The staff at the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South was extremely helpful and friendly. We did not encounter a single person at the hotel that was anything but professional and warm. The Comfort Suites Indianapolis South is located very close to shopping including a Super Target and Meijer. A Speedway gas station is within walking distance.

The price we paid for our stay at Comfort Suites Indianapolis South was really surprising, in a good way. Most of the downtown and suburban hotels I priced in Indianapolis were $100 minimum, and most were in the $120-$150 range, other than your basic budget motels. For our stay at the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South our rate was $78 per night booked through Hotels.com. This rate really saved us some money and I can't imagine that the other hotels I viewed could have been any better in terms of rooms and amenities.

Overall the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South is a great hotel to use when visiting Indianapolis. Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, great rates a convenient location, and adequate other amenities make the Comfort Suites Indianapolis South a top choice in the Indianapolis area.

Wow, what a bargain price. Thanks for the tip about hotels.com, sounds like that's the way to book rooms, for sure :)
