Comfortis: Eco-Friendly Flea Control Product Review

Bandit
Comfortis™ is the very first FDA-approved, chewable, beef-flavored tablet that actually kills fleas and prevents flea infestations on dogs for thirty days. Comfortis contains the eco-friendly active ingredient, Spinosad which comes from a natural soil dwelling bacterium called Saccharopolyspora spinosa; that is reported to have been collected from the soil out of an abandoned rum distillery by a scientist who was on vacation on a Caribbean Island back in 1982. Comfortis is an eco-friendly flea control product that works.

Fleas, those tiny pests infest both dogs, cats and can invade your homes if left untreated. Fleabites can cause discomfort for your pet, and all of the constant scratching and itching can cause skin infections, which will lead to allergic skin reactions. Fleas can also cause other disease-causing organisms, including tapeworms. It is very important to get rid of fleas as quickly as possible and prevent their return to ensure that your pet stays healthy. Fleas are a terrible nuisance for your dog and if left untreated, flea infestation can pose serious health risks to your pets.

Comfortis flea medication for dogs offer great benefits that come in one product:

Begins to kill the fleas within thirty minutes after giving the pill to your dog.

Kills the fleas before any eggs can be laid.

Lasts for a full thirty days.

Contains an eco-friendly flea killing ingredient.

Comfortis comes packaged in a square cardboard box with a six- month supply of flea medication doses. Each tablet is individually wrapped in a blister pouch and you push out a pill from its pouch each month. The pills are beef-flavored and round and tan colored. The beef-flavor will entice your dog to want to eat this pill and he will think that this is a treat for him. Comfortis is for use in puppies and dogs of ages fourteen weeks and up and to ensure your dog receives the maximum protection, Comfortis must be given with a meal.

Fleas still have to get on the dog before they will die. There is no flea prevention medication out there that will keep fleas completely off an animal. If there are fleas in your home or yard, they will be on your pet. If you own a dog, then it is best not to take your dog on walks, especially if you are fighting fleas already. The more you take the dog on walks, then the more fleas he will have and will continue bringing more fleas home with each walk he gets to go on.

Fleas spend most of their life cycle off the animals. The life cycle of fleas begins with the eggs, which turn to larvae, then larvae turns to pupae, then pupae turns to the adult flea. Once a male and female flea have sex (I'm not sure if it's missionary style or doggie style), soon after mating, the male flea dies. The female will continue feeding off an animal gorging on blood for approximately 10 days. Once she is full, she hops off the animal to go lay her eggs. During a period of about up to four weeks, she can lay thousand and thousands of eggs and once she lays all of the eggs, the female dies soon afterwards. Then the whole ugly life cycle begins with all the other adult fleas that are out there already and have layed their eggs.

A six-month supply of Comfortis runs around $85.00 through a veterinarian which is worth the money because it does work That averages out to run about $13.00 a month for flea control. I was talking to my dog's veterinarian the other day and the receptionist and they both say that they use Comfortis and will never use anything else to control fleas. They both said they love it. . We administered one dose to my nephew's dog just yesterday and so far I am impressed with this flea control product! I found only one flea so far and the flea was barely moving.

The following information is on the back of the package:

Comfortis chewable tablets kill fleas and are indicated for the prevention and treatment of flea infestations on dogs for one month.

I give Comfortis 5 stars for a great flea prevention & flea infestation product.

This must be new. I've never heard of it. I hate putting the flea medications on my dogs and cats, but then I hate the fleas more. I've been trying different kinds of natural control along with weekly baths for the dogs. Not so much for the cats as far as the baths go. LOL. But they do get flea combed which they love. Thanks for this review. I'm going to check it out.

Trust me, I've tried everything and so far nothing works. I've paid a small fortune trying to get rid of all the bugs (fleas, ticks, spiders) in this house that it is ridiculous. I think I know now why I got it for such a good price. In the meantime, however, since I'm highly allergic I'm sick as a dog. But the bugs are all doing just fine.
