I don't want to just lay out everything like I do for individual issues because this is a mini series that shouldn't be spoiled. It was originally printed for Image comics with different/ worse art.
The writing is top notch with even time fro small running gangs and personality quirks. Something which is lacking from a majority of comics. Everyone is some arch type the leader, the rough, the funny one. That isn't a personality it's bad writing. The story flows seamlessly between the past and the present to fully tell the story. There are some parts I didn't find useful or felt they could have been better, but they do not detract from the whole.
The art is easy to look at and very original. It's not a boring bland future there was a real created direction in what things should look like. Without the art this story would be very hard to read because through the visuals in relays so much drama and emotion. The angles are also impressive because it's not all dead on shots your views are like your there at all times. Either walking and talking with a group of people or resting waiting for your father.
The plot is original not so much as super villain tried to take over the world, but he's just a family man that takes over the world. That is a totally new way to look at the standard good guy vs. bad guy fight. You really start to feel for the man and not like the "good guys."
The art, story, and writing are among the better of the comic crop. This should be a part of everyone's comic collection. It should have been longer though a lot of the story feels cramp and that there is a lot more to it which could be shared with us. Some parts can be rather unclear because you are a member of this world as you read. The only problem is you don't know anything about the world so some things you can catch.
Golgoth is a ruthless man and a true gangster 9 out of 10.
