Comiccon New York 2009: Previewing New York's Comic Book Convention

Feb 6th-8th 2009

With the year coming to an end and the holidays upon us it is hard to look forward past the celebrations, but just a gentle reminder that Comiccon New York 2009 is fast approaching. As always Comiccon New York 2009 promises to be the biggest, most exciting, most spectacular and over all the very best of all comic book conventions in 2009. This year Comiccon New York will be hosted at the Jabob K. Javits convention center in New York City, but the organizers of the convention claim that it will be more than just a comic book convention and more like a cultural convention. With the very latest in all genera of comic books, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, movies and television it appears, from all points of view, to be just that. Organizers of the convention claim that Comiccon New York 2009 will offer sneak previews of upcoming comic books, TV shows and video games as well as comic book signings and other special events. Comiccon New York 2009 will be opening it's doors to the public on Friday February 6th 2009 at 1.00pm and will run through Sunday February 8th at 5.00pm.

If, like myself, you are thinking of attending Comiccon New York 2009 in February, either as a member of the public, comic book retailer or professional, you will need to purchase a ticket in advance. Tickets for Comiccon New York 2009 come in various classes and range from a very reasonable $30 for a one day standard pass to and excellent $150 for a VIP weekend pass that includes early access to the show floor (so you can find bargains or meet the sellers before everyone else), access to the VIP lounge (we all need to relax sometimes) as well as a selection of exclusive and interesting freebies.

All Attendees 5 years and above will need a ticket for Comiccon New York 2009, but Sunday February 8th is Kid's Day. Kid's Day, a great day for the whole family, is the only day where all children 12 years and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. There will be special events focused on children and families. Please note that Comiccon New York 2009 recommends that all children under 18 are accompanied by an adult and also insists that ALL children under 13 are accompanied by an adult. Tickets for Comiccon New York 2009 are available online at the Comiccon New York 2009 website or at various comic book stores throughout New York and New Jersey.

Comiccon New York 2009 should be a lot of fun for the whole family and is well worth the price of admission. Retailer, comic book professional or comic book fan, I hope you have a great time at Comiccon New York 2009.
