Commendable Clippings: AC Articles Melting Pot

Cathy A Montville
There are a vast number of articles published daily at Associated Content and because of this, some worthy of note writing and writers slip our attention. Here I provide snippets and links to a handful of great content you may have missed.

Jillian McCoy - Jillian's picks for "3 Books that Would Make Good Movies," left me to ponder what books I thought would make a good movie. There are plenty, to be sure. I do not want to spoil the fun of you reading her article by pointing out all three books she highlights, but I will say; she is right-on in choosing one of my favorite books, "The Witching Hour" by Anne Rice. Check out Jillian's article and see if you agree!

Pearl Grace - A licensed Mental Health Counselor, Pearl Grace recently wrote an article "How to Determine if Someone You Love Should See a Psychiatrist," that is packed with valuable information. The article also provides a list of signs to watch for as well as suggestions to help you in supporting a loved one who needs to seek out treatment. You may know someone who needs direction with something like this, so pass it on!

John Myers - You cannot read "A Remembrance for Dad" without feeling John's emotion over the death of his father. A wave of emotion washed over me as I was reading it...leaving me with many thoughts afterward as to my own mother's passing. At the end of his article, John has several links to related writing and you do not want miss any of these. Somehow, I believe writing about memories of a parent serves as a catharsis and I truly believe those who have passed over, read every word we write.

Elizabeth Valentine - In this poignant piece, "Plane Crash Survivor Stephanie Nielson Defines Beauty," Elizabeth walks you through Stephanie's courageous recovery after she and her husband survived a plane crash in 2008. Stephanie suffered burns to eighty percent of her body and according to Elizabeth's article, was in a comma for three months. This inspirational story is a must-read. You will definitely come away with a change in attitude after reading this!

Lois Lunsford - Father's Day is June 20th so you have plenty of time to consider a gift. If you need a nifty handmade gift, however, Lois will show you how to make one in her article "Make a Picture Frame for Dad." Not only is this a thoughtful gift; Lois made this picture frame by recycling a CD case and it is easy enough for a child to make themselves. She also provides neat ideas for decorating the frame and includes a photo of one she made herself. This is a very cool idea and parents will love the flexibility of this simple but heartfelt gift!

Thomas H Forthe - My long-time AC friend, Thomas, is the go-to guy for everything home improvement. Because many people repaint their home in summer, I feel Thomas' "Pressure Washing Your Home" guide will benefit those who are not familiar with pressure (power) washing, which should be done prior to painting.

Thomas claims pressure washing not only saves time on painting...it saves your back when painting as well. That alone should get you interested! Read his tips for pressure washing. With all the time you will save, there will be lots more relaxing in that hammock this summer or time for playing with a new grand baby if you happen to have one...like Thomas!

Well done AC Contributors! I will feature more work in the next article! So much to read...so many great writers!
