I am the biggest April Fool there is. So I am on Facebook and I see a post from Associated Content. It stated the following:

I must've taken dumb pills this morning, or maybe it's the fact that I am overmedicated to begin with because I believed this statement. I was so pissed off! In fact, I reposted it on Facebook and emailed the Noodle Diet (who is a personal friend of mine and whom you should definitely check out ). Well, she is running on little sleep and is not medicated, and she goes to me "What day is it there again?" My head hit the keyboard and I let out a gigantic "DUH!". Thus, I commented on AC Darnell's Status and told him that I am the biggest April Fool! *insert court jester dance here*
Even weirder is I read Paul Rance's (aka Buttbird) article about how the Golden Gate Bridge was going to be dismantled, etc (you can read it here at: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2850030/golden_gate_bridge_to_leave_san_francisco.html?cat=8) and I told him it was funny because there is probably some idiot out there who would believe that's true...Sarah Palin came to mind, and then I go and fall for AC's April Fool's joke. Now, please don't compare me to Sarah Palin-she builds bridges to nowhere. I at least know my flubups and acknowledge them and laugh at them.
Speaking of April Fool's jokes, a few years ago a friend of mine emailed a whole bunch of his friends early in the morning, knowing that most of us hadn't turned on the television yet. He emailed us all that there was a hurricane coming up the coast again (there had been one the week before that had dissipated in the Carolinas somewhere) and that we should take appropriate precautions because this one was definitely going to hit us. A whole bunch of us wrote to him saying "please tell me you are joking?" He wrote back "I am. April Fool!" That was one of the best jokes someone pulled on me then.
I did pull a practical joke on my mom when I was in high school. We had a test a few days earlier and I really thought I failed it. So I came home all sad, told my mom I was going to wind up in summer school and that I will try to do better next time. I handed her the paper and she goes "This is an 80!" and I shouted out "April Fool!" Yeah, it's not that funny, but come on you have to admit I was adorable!
The odd thing was last year I was thinking about what I can pull on April Fool's Day this year. I was going to send that same e-mail out. Only thing is-it wouldn't be funny considering we had four Nor'Easters so far this year alone. So instead of pulling a prank this year of any sort, I thought you'd all like to be amused by my DUH moments.

Post a CommentI love a good April fool!
Ta for the mention, though I think it's backfiring on me! The hits have gone into overdrive SINCE April 1st, so I hope I haven't put off people visiting SF... You weren't the only one to fall for the AC fb joke. I would have done if I'd seen it, as my Mother caught me out this year. Early in the morning is the best time to catch people. You've been quite an April Fooler then - giving and receiving!
Well, I believed it too so you're not alone .....
I am purrfect, perffect - and this never happens t0 me - okay maybe ALL the time!
Hilarious! Don't feel bad; we've all been got one time or another. Thanks for being such a good sport and owning your faux pas!
Very amused.
Good one.
Very funny. It is quite enjoyable to play the role of the joker now and then.
at least you're a good sport. :)
Good article. About the comment on Google: they do nutty stuff every year. I think one year they announced an improvement on email; it would be printed and sent by snail mail.
