If you can set aside at least one hour for television, then you can exercise and lose weight, too. Follow this guideline and you'll be looking your best and looking at the best shows.
3 Minutes Before the Show
Warm up: Walk up and down your stairs for two minutes.
Do 10-15 push-ups
Commercial Break 1
Put your feet under the couch and do sit-ups for 1 minute.
Do 10-15 more push-ups
Do 20 lunges
Commercial Break 2
Do 20 wall squats
1 minute of push-ups
1 minute of calf raises at the same time you do triceps extensions while holding a large canned good
Commercial Break 3
Bend down and try to touch your toes without bending your knees. Do this 20 times.
1 minute of calf raises while you do triceps extensions
Do 20 more lunges
3 Minutes After the Show
Do 20 wall squats
Do one more set of sit-ups using the couch
Run your stairs for two minutes
Now take three minutes and walk in place to cool down. Take time to stretch all your large muscle groups as well. Make sure not to do any ballistic or jerky, bouncing movements. Hold each stretch for 20 seconds.
If any of the exercises here are too hard or too easy then adjust them so they work for you. Consider purchasing exercise bands to use to increase the number of exercises you can do as well as the intensity of your workout.
No one ever said that working out had to include getting dressed, driving somewhere, or paying for a gym membership. There are probably so many times that you are too tired to get up, get dressed and go work out when you get home at the end of the day. Does that scenario sound familiar?
If so, then don't be afraid to explore new, fun ways to get your physical activity in. You could even involve other family members in your exercises. If you have children, they might enjoy if you included them in your workout and made it a family affair. That will increase the likelihood that you all will enjoy it and continue to do it.
