Commit Lozenges 4 Mg. Original Flavor Review

Rebecca Said
Being a heavy smoker (over a pack a day) for 20 years, I decided to try the Commit Lozenges 4 mg. Original Flavor to stop smoking. Over all those years, I had made several failed attempts to quit. I had tried hypnosis, the patch, relaxation techniques, herbal concoctions, and going cold turkey among other methods. Nothing seemed to work. As a smoker, I had been told numerous times that I wouldn't be successful until I was "ready" to quit. Whatever that means. Of course, every time I thought I was "ready" enough. But, when push came to shove; I would cave in and smoke that cigarette every time! So, when I purchased my first box of Commit Lozenges 4 mg., I was skeptical as to whether it would actually work.

Commit Lozenges come in original flavor, mint, cherry and cappuccino. You can buy them in either the 2 mg or 4 mg. strength. Surprisingly, they are both about the same price. So, with the 4 mg. lozenges it's like getting twice as much for the same price. With the flavors, it's just a matter of personal preference. The original flavor is my favorite, as the others seem a bit too intense for my taste. The lozenges contain Nicotine Polacrilex. When you quit smoking, you're dealing with a physical and habitual addiction. The Commit Lozenges 4 mg. can help you with the physical aspect, as you're getting the Nicotine you crave. However, it won't help you with the actual habit of having a cigarette in your hand, and smoking at certain times. Quitting is still hard. But, for those that are seriously addicted, it can be that advantage that makes the difference. It did for me. It's been almost 4 years since I've smoked my last cigarette.

Overall, I would rate the Commit Lozenges 4 mg. as a great product. However, it does have it's disadvantages. As mentioned above, yes it did work and I'm now a non-smoker. But now, I cannot quit the Commit Lozenges! It's been 4 years, and I can't seem to kick the habit. Instead of giving my money to the tobacco companies, I'm giving it to GlaxoSmithKline. It's an expensive habit. Of course, the box lists all the normal warning disclaimers. It says to talk to your doctor before taking it if you have heart problems, high blood pressure, and stomach ulcers. What bothers me the most, is I've just traded one addiction for another. However, it's a better bad habit than the bad habit of actually smoking.
