Common Sense Ways to Avoid Wrinkles

Old age is not always the culprit when it comes to wrinkles. Sure, once people get old, their skin inevitably loses some elasticity and it may not be as easy for it to retain moisture like it did when it was younger. However, there are some things you can do to avoid wrinkles.

Sleep on your back

Believe it or not, this is a great habit to develop. You can prevent wrinkles all of your life this way. Even if you are in your twenties, it's good to practice this one simple position.

If you are still young and you sleep on your back, you probably notice some creases on your face when you wake up. These creases and wrinkles go away throughout the day only because you are still young and your skin still has some elasticity. However, once you get older, the elasticity usually begins to wear out, and those wrinkles that come from your pillow get stuck there, right on your face. Therefore, right now is the time to make a habit of sleeping on your back.

Don't use straws

Some studies say that using straws to sip beverages will cause unattractive wrinkles around the mouth. So be sure to drink right from the rim of your glass so you can stave off wrinkles as long as you can.

Don't worry

Worrying can cause fine lines and wrinkles in many areas such as the brow line. The brow line is one of the first places people look when they see you. That's because many people notice the eyes of a person. So it's a good idea to keep this area free of wrinkles for as long as possible. Just too many people stress their face out as they scrunch up their brows and wrinkle their noses while trying to concentrate on a problem.

Try to keep your weight as constant as you can

If your weight fluctuates more than fifteen pounds, you're giving your skin a greater risk of losing elasticity. That means more wrinkles.

Drink water

Water will moisturize your skin from the inside out. When you combine drinking eight glasses of water with a good, creamy external skin moisturizer, you give your skin a good chance of staying moist and elastic. That way, wrinkles will be less likely to form prematurely.

Just be happy Ever seen a person who was 23 but looked like they were 30? That could be you if you're not careful. Many people can look years older than they really are because they are sad, mad, worried, or depressed all of time. These people might smoke, drink, and party all night. But whatever they're doing, it's wreaking havoc on their skin. So don't let premature wrinkles happen to you. Stay happy.
