Married to the heir of the throne, now a Princess, no doubt Kate's dreams have come true. She will now be known as royalty, with all the privileges and responsibilities that come, through her recent marriage to Prince William.
Kate has received this new life, in the natural and temporal, but we as Christians have received an eternal election of royalty for all eternity. Kate was chosen by Prince William. We were chosen by God. This is in no way to take away from the Prince and Princess, but rather to illustrate, in a simple way, what happens to believers, when they accept Christ, the King as Lord.
We were chosen by God, to receive an everlasting kingdom, to reign with Christ forever. The scriptures, that tell us, "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:" I Peter 2:9 (KJV)
In coming to Christ, a person is transformed, instantly into the Kingdom without end. "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins." Colossians 1:13-14 (KJV)
God chose ordinary people to give this gift to. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved." Romans 10:13 (KJV)
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us." II Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)
"Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations." Psalms 145:13 (KJV)
"If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:"II Timothy 2:12 (KJV)
There are many other verses that substantiate the amazing transformation and exchange that takes place when a person becomes a child of the King, but these demonstrate some of our inheritance in Christ.
