Communicating the Gospel: The Basics

What is the Most Effective Way of Communicating the Gospel?

Jon Anderhub
In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God (John 1:1). What an interesting concept! The scripture doesn't say the power or the glory, but "the word". It seems that from the very beginning God meant to communicate to us and for us to communicate his word to one another.

Initially "the word" was communicated verbally from person to person or groups of people. This is perhaps the most effective method of spreading the Gospel! Nothing is more effective than the earnest sharing of God's word from one person to another.

It seems that the 21st century Church has come a long way from it's early roots. When you walk into a Church these days you may encounter advanced sound , lighting and video systems. If you are inspired by the message you can often get the message recorded on CD or DVD mp3 or download it as a podcast. If you desire, you don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home. Many different types of Church services are available on television, radio and the internet. Is all of this necessary to communicate the gospel or is this all just a big show?

Well the answer in a round about way is yes. On my next blog we'll examine how the 21st century Church has evolved into the current model and why all the technology is necessary just to communicate the gospel.

Till then God's blessings on you!
