Communist China: The Silent Communist Storm
The Consequences of Unprecedented US-Communist Trade Imbalance
Today we hear a constant barrage of reports of the huge trade imbalance the US government has with it's trading partners, particularly Communist China. During the Clinton Administration the Cox Report clearly and dramatically illustrated the unprecedented transfer of American technology to the Communist Chinese. But today that issue has not only exploded to the point that Communist China has overtaken the US as the technology giant of the world, but also an enormous portion of America's manufacturing, textile, and machinery industry has been given to not only China, but other non-US friendly countries such as Russia. These two countries in particular are of concern to me due to the fact they have in the past expressed the destruction of the United States and America's way of life. And neither of them has publicly recanted their adversarial position towards the US. If anything they have periodically harden their position. All of these maneuvers and events have received scant or less than critical coverage by the US Established Media. Why? I can not imagine such critical neglectful behavior by the Media during the "Cold War" with The Communist Soviet Union. Why is it being allowed to occur now? Also, what better way to defeat a superiorly powerful adversary or competitor than to take that which makes him strong and powerful? You could win without having to throw a punch, or not very many. I recall a proverb in The Art of War, "When they [the opponent/enemy] are fulfilled, be prepared against them; when they are strong, avoid them.", also"The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities."
Consider if the members of the Axis Powers would have done in some 20 years prior to World War 2 what China, in particular, is accomplishing today through the lopsided trade deals with the US over the past three Presidential Administrations. One thing that has always been a point of interest to me is that upon the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Japanese Admiral Nagumo is to have stated "that Japan has awakened a sleeping giant." It was not till later that I learned that at that time America had an enormous industrial and manufacturing base, not thoroughly tested at that point, and a had huge capacity to not only provide for itself, but the world as well. Another interesting fact that has gone unnoticed is that one of the pressures applied to Japan, that may have drove them to attach Pearl Harbor, is that the United States government was restricting oil exports to it. As it turns out, America was a world exporter of oil. America was such a strong country in manufacturing, agriculture, and energy that we could successfully stake an "isolationist" position - without being a world superpower as Great Briton held that position. What in the hell has happened to that picture of American strength? Have you ever asked yourself why the German Blockade of Briton was so effective? These two questions are scarily intertwined.
Fast-forward just 67 years to today. America is nearly totally dependant on the rest of the world for our very existence; from the foods that we import from places with sub par standards exposing us to illness' to the clothing on our backs that keeps us warm and the imported energy from those who may wish us harm; from the lumber that we import to satisfy the Spotted Owl fans to the millions of illegal immigrants of unknown origin and lesser known intentions and loyalties who are allowed to enter our great lands with impunity due to UN sponsored education that has left the American people educability retarded and socially dysfunctional prompting us to except all things presented as emotionally based, security inspired, and convenience driven while rejecting nearly all things resembling logical thought, freedom desired, and self-responsibility incited; from the clock on the wall from which we tell time by to the auto parts and cars that we rush to and from work to earn more of a depreciating fiat currency - Federal Reserve Notes [Dollars] - to take the US government further into debt to sell off more Bonds to Communist China just to pay on interest paid to the Federal Reserve to keep the US economy illusion of posterity and "the good life" afloat. In regards to Communist China, according to US Census, as recently as January 1998 the Chinese had an approx. $13 Billion budget with the US. Just nine years later that number has jumped to $30 Billion. At the same time the US ran approx. $4 Billion trade deficit with China, and jumped incredibly to over $21 Billion negative account balance. That amount is distantly followed by Canada's $6 Million in January '07. If you think that is scary close your eyes. In January 1985 the US had a $26.1 Million trade surplus with China. As of January 2007 it had exploded to $21,270.9 Billion trade deficit. During the same time, Canada went from a $1,539.5 Billion deficit in '85 to a $6,871.7 Billion deficit; Mexico from $167.9 Million deficit to $4,582.5 Billion deficit; and in January '85 the US had $3,868.8 Billion deficit to January of '07 it has grown to $6,498.2 Billion deficit.
What two events occurred during this time that so greatly sifted the balance in the account ledger with the United States' largest trading partners? With regards to Canada and Mexico, it's two four letter words - NAFTA and CAFTA. The North American Free Trade Agreement [NAFTA] of 1992, later expanded with the Central American Free Trade Agreement [CAFTA] of 2005, have had critical effects on the US agriculture and manufacturing industries. Also, the US Congress in 1998 stupidly granted Communist China Most Favorite Trade Status [MFS], and allowed for China's entrance into the World Trade Organization. The allowance of Red China into the World Trade Organization and MFS by the US was promoted as a way to better influence Communist China, force them to behave better in trade matters, and turn the communist society into a more open and diplomatic one. What it has succeeded to do is facilitate a expeditious transfer US knowledge and know how to China, flipped the relationship from US dictating terms to China to the very opposite, and has placed US international corporations on the side of Communist China when it comes to US trade and national defense issues for financial benefit. This act of the US removed the greatest leverage and control that it had on China and open the US to a direct assault on the textile, electronics, and manufacturing industries till today the military is getting clothing and electronic parts from the Red Chinese. To pour vinegar on the gapping wound, the Clinton Administration virtually eliminated export waivers and transferred trade clearance responsibilities from the State Department and Defense Department to the Commerce Department. Clinton's part in the Chinese PLA's warp drive from military light-weight to menacing superpower in just 20 years is so critical that in 1999 Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe on the floor of the Senate stated, "President Clinton is solely responsible...we are totally defenseless against as incoming ICBM from China." Why is the relationship with the Chinese government so threatening and different than any relationship of such an important trading partner is the little reported fact that the government of China is in essence the military of China, the People's Liberation Army [PLA]? They are one in the same. What ever information or knowledge that we give the government of China we are giving it's military. The Chinese demands disclosure of knowledge of any partner's product(s) that they enter into an agreement with. In other words, in order for any US corporation to do business with Red China, they have to relinquish intellectual property rights. China is a country already notorious for copyright infringements and just blatantly lacks any international copyrights law enforcement.
Today the United States is the world's debtor nation, since 1987. Many of the industrialized nations have 23 times more in foreign reserves then the United States. The United States government is running its largest trade deficit in its history; its citizens are averaging 3 credit cards, a paycheck from living on the streets, and have savings of less than 2%. Americans are 5% of the world's population, yet imports greater than 20% of the world's products. The United States has been upside down in trade with the world for the past 30 years, and is even running in the red in the technology or food industries. Once the bread basket of the world, the US has to take from the table of other nations. A trend that start in 1976. The manufacturing juggernaut that supplied the world after WW II, has allowed itself to be stripped by 60% of it's capacity. In 2006, the two main nations that America battled in WW II, Germany and Japan, produced a surplus of $283 Billion, $86, $196 Billion respectively, while the U.S. had a total merchandise trade deficit of $789 Billion. China is responsible for greater than 28% of the US trade deficit. Prior to WW II America ran primarily on it's own energy production, now it's import-export ratio has flipped 70%. To put it in a more stark context, the US owes more on it's trade balance than what it spends on Social Security by 35%, Medicare by greater than 2 times, and military spending by 50%. The government of the US in paying $2 Billion A DAY just to pay on the trade gap. Prior to WW II America was a beacon of excellence in education, today we are walking intellectual zombies, particularly at K thru 12. Each US man, woman, and child is in debited to foreign producers to a tune of more than $21 Thousand. Imagine what would happen if you and I managed our household finances in the same manner as the US government. Today America is no longer in control of it's future, such nations as China and other foreigners are for the first time since the American Revolution.
The United States' obsessive drive to a "free trade policy" is asinine at best and totally illogical on its base. Nations have always traded freely simply based on mutual benefit and supply and demand. What free trade is only free in name only. What it is is government regulated trade. And with Congress' allowing the Executive Branch the authority to created trade treaties, erroneously called agreements, through "fast track", has given the President a virtual dictatorial status in trade making. What fast track has done is allow the Executive Branch to get the US into trade treaties that are disadvantageous to the American people. It has not even been close. There was no logical reason that US should have approved CAFTA in which the countries that the US eliminated tariffs with it receive less than 30% of goods from, them combined. This policy alone, especially under this current Administration, has left the American once well-stocked cupboard bare in return for mangos and avocados. Karl Marx in 1848 said regarding free trade, "The free trade system is destructive. It breaks up old nationalities and pushes the antagonism of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie to the extreme point. In a word, the free trade system hastens the social revolution. It is in this revolutionary sense alone, gentlemen, that I vote in favor of free trade."
Today America is facing it's greatest threat to its sovereignty and way of life by a gross mis-educated, apathetic, and passive populace that allows the government to garner powers and authority over their lives beyond the limits of the Constitution, the United Nations which is majorally consumed with socialist and communist members, and Communist China who has a stated adversarial position with the United States.
Red China is unlike any adversary America has ever faced. Even more threatening than the Soviet Union at it's height of power. And life in America is more perilous than at anytime in our history due to our dysfunctional governmental educational system that teaches nothing about finances and everything about how if you do not have it is ok to take from those who do; out of control political correctness agenda that dulls the natural instincts to stand on morals and principles; a society seemingly welling to turn secularist religions - turning away from a specific unifying Supreme Being and towards man; and a populace that is so totally disconnected from politics that they know the contestants on "American Idol" better than the members representing them in Congress or their State Legislature. The Chinese people have a much different perspective of doing things, they are students of history, and they are more willing to take baby steps to achieve their objective(s). Their civilization has existed since nearly the beginning of history. They are disciplined in work ethic and nationalism, as well as place high value on honor. And they want Taiwan back under their jurisdiction to reunify their homeland, the US is the only nation that has stopped them and is prohibiting them today. With the United States defanged, greatly reduced capacity to wage war effectively, and indebted to it, they will get Taiwan without a fire being shot by the US.
Prior to World War 2 America was never so vulnerable to its enemies. There were scores of Congressional oversight committees on anti-American or communist activities. But, the enemies of this nation seized upon the drama and hysteria surrounding the "McCarthy Era" to have all such defensive entities abolished or rendered ineffective. For nearly 20 years, 3 consecutive US Presidential Administrations, America has been led down the copper brick road to the wizard of UN [United Nations] or One World Government. As the Beetles once Imagined, a world without borders - or without sovereignty. The lion, George Bush, Sr.'s Administration officially ushered in the New World Order as he ordered the great might of the US military to be used by the United Nations to attack and invade Iraq, without direct provocation and Congressional Declaration of War. The tin man, Bill Clinton's Administration, nothing could stick to him not shame for lying to the US government or the American people over issues of national security, not dishonor for invading the sovereign nation of Yugoslavia, sanctioned by the UN, without direct provocation nor Congressional Declaration of War, and not even treason due to his role in allowing unprecedented transfer critical military intelligence and technology to Communist China and other enemies of the United States nor unprecedented access to the Presidency by the Chinese to allow them to finance his last Office bid. And then the scarecrow, George Bush, Jr.'s Administration who stands high as to appear to be the protector of the freedom and security of America and it's Constitution, while the nation sleeps he oversees the greatest theft of America's freedoms with the greatest expansion of Federal police powers, via the PATRIOTs, blatant disregard and usurpation of the Constitution ever by a US President by creating defacto laws through the Executive Branch establishing policies allowing mass illegal immigration, the creation of a North American Union that would join the United States politically and economically with Canada and Mexico without the approval of the Congress or the people of America, and establishing trade agreements that surrenders America's ability to feed, cloth, and or defend itself to Communist nations and those who do not have America's interest at heart, and has led the US military into a conflict in two sovereign nations, without a Congressional Declaration of War or proven direct provocation, but United Nations Resolutions that will cost this nation thousands of American lives and Trillions to our Treasury.
The Communist Chinese have learned the lessons of the Axis' failures to know that it is better to fight the giant when he has been declawed and defang, if not hit em' when he is sound asleep. Maybe they studied how vulnerable the greatest super power prior to WW II, Great Briton, was rendered exposed do to the fact that it had embarked on a policy of exporting many of it's critical industry, via that day's version of free trade, outside of its borders to such a degree that a blockage by Germany would have brought it down if not for the intervention of the sovereign and independent United States of America. China today has control of both points of entry to the Panama Canal - thanks to President Jimmy Carter- from which they can control and or monitor US naval movements and activities; has PLA stationed throughout Latin America whereby it can launch a missile attach that would make the Cuban Missile Crisis appear as a minor disturbance; control over naval ports such as at Long Beach and Spratly Islands and owns China Ocean Shipping Company [COSCO] by which they could smuggle in a nuclear bomb and maybe other military hardware; has obtain enough technological knowledge, by theft and gift, that it can match the US militarily, if not surpass it; and most importantly have most of our critical manufacturing and technology infrastructure dominated by them, are in their country, or control by one their close trading partners that could greatly hamper or eliminate the United States Military's ability to mobilize in time of conflict between our two nations.
Never before in the history of this republic has two Presidents orchestrated a symphony of noise and distraction of the people's eyes and hearts away from that which is truly causing the disturbance. Prior to WW II America had no true direct foreign threat, but we were on guard to things that was harmful to America's security and domestic way of life. And once attacked, American people were unified and focused on the defeat of Japan and Germany. John Kennedy's and Ronald Reagan's Presidencies restored the sense of America's greatness as a nation and a people. They focused America and their energies on the defeat of the Communist Soviet Union, if not on the battlefield than in the schools and labs. There was a genuine sense of competitive national purpose. Since the Reagan Administration, in particularly the current and prior ones, there has been a gross under-valuing, dismissal, and belittlement of America and the American people, via the exaggerated use of Executive Orders - that allows the President create law through the pen - and Signing Statements - assert that the President has the power to disobey newly enacted laws - along with the orgy fest that they appear to have with the United Nations and Red China. While there has been a deafening noise and commotion, largely propelled by the Executive Branch, spent on nations like Serbia, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, and Iraq that in their wildest dreams could never become an imminent threat to America or USA's Constitution. These nations could not threaten Pentagon computer systems, create a viable naval threat to the US, place satellites in space, or anything close. Though they could become regional threats, but that would be problem for the States in that region. What these distraction has accomplished is leave this great nation exposed to it's enemies as never before in our history as nations such as Communist China skillfully positioning themselves as America's economic savior and possible nations executioner.
I have heard of the prophetic belief that a free society can only exist for 200 years, but this nation has already surpassed that mark. Maybe not as free as many would like, but we have made it still as the beacon on freedom for others to see. But, today we are being used more like a callgirl during a Southern Baptist Convention, enjoys us for all that we can give and cusses us out the day after and treat us like strangers. But, it is not the fault of the conventioneers, it is our fault. It is we the people who chooses to lay down with those who do not have our best interest for the sake of convenience. It is we the people who can start to create a better picture than one that consumes beyond our means to one who lives within our means. We the people can start standing up for principle and integrity rather than who ever can pay us the most or give us the most immediate gratification. We the people can demand that our elected representatives behave more like we do when it comes to budgeting domestic finances. We the people can work to instill a harden sense of nationalism, love and appreciation for America, to be American. We the people can demand for energy independence just as countries such as Norway, Canada, Nigeria, and how we were prior to WWII. We the people can choose a course for a more educated society that is greater than par with other nations, but surpasses them. And, above all, we the people can demand that our country be governed by the principles of the Founders, via the Constitution. America is still the greatest country ever established on the basis of freedom and individual self-government. America has all of the energy capacity that is only untapped because of the Environmentalist agenda. America has ingredients from every country of the world that makes us rich. America has an innate ability and capacity to compete effectively, superiorly against any nation, if given a fair playing field, because we are only bound by our imaginations, without giving the shirt off our backs for a handful of beans. Alexander Hamilton determined that when it comes to trade stated, "Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufactures...Every nation ought to endeavor to posses within itself all the essentials of a national supply. These comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense..." When it is all said and done, we can either wake up and take actions to stop the stripping of our clothes or remain asleep to wake up naked and chain to the bed.

Standing ovation...a bipartisan attack on our countries schizophrenic policies. I've been commenting and writing articles on just this subject (not on AC however). I'm glad to see at least one other person in America who sees the ever growing looming threat that is gathering in the east. Fear the "Asian Tigers" for they come for your life. Good job. This should be mandatory reading for every single person in Washington.
