I discovered Community Coffee in 2004 when I was working in Louisiana and was immediately hooked. I drank Community Coffee in hotels, restaurants and convenience stores throughout the region and regularly bought it in the grocery stores near Baton Rouge so I could have it in my home in Central Ohio. When the assignment ended, my last stop on my way home was Wal-mart so I could buy five pounds of Community Coffee.
When my supply ran out, I raced to the Community Coffee website, hoping I could order a new supply. I was excited when I learned I could set up a Coffee Club account and receive shipments as often as I chose with the billing handled directly through my credit card. Every four weeks, I watch the brown UPS van come up my driveway with my two-pound order.
Community Coffee Coffee Club members receive a 10% discount on their orders from regular retail or web-order pricing. The shipping is UPS Ground although USPS delivery is available. Coffee Club members can choose how much coffee they want delivered automatically at whatever time interval they choose.
Being a member of the Community Coffee Coffee Club doesn't prevent me from ordering directly from the website and my order status has not been affected when I've done so.
In the more than five years I've been a member of the Community Coffee Club, I've only had one issue. I had to stop my membership for a few months when I moved and when I set up my new account, the card number I typed in triggered the old account to reactivate. I did receive the coffee (a double shipment!), but a phone call to Community Coffee's toll-free number connected me quickly with a real, live human being who was very apologetic and fixed the computer glitch.
Through the years, I've occasionally received a few free "thank you" gifts with my monthly Coffee Club shipments. I now have a collection of three travel cups and have received several one-pot trial size packages of flavored coffee.
For coffee lovers looking for the convenience of home delivery at a reasonable price - my one-pound package of Between Roast retails for $5.89 - Community Coffee's Coffee Club is a bargain for great coffee.
