There is no lack of Community college opportunities for students in Tampa Bay, Florida. Hillsborough County, in which Tampa itself and its closest suburbs are located, has the best-known Community College in the Bay area and for the state of Florida, simply called Hillsborough Community College. There are four primary Hillsborough Community College Campuses:

In Tampa, the premier and largest Hillsborough Community College Campus:
The Dale Mabry Campus, Dale Mabry Highway and Tampa Bay Blvd.
Advisory Office: 813-253-7202; Financial Aid Office: 253-7235.
Curriculum specialties at this state-of-the-art Campus are health sciences and technology, with degrees in Associate in Arts and Associate in Science.

Brandon Campus:
10414 E. Columbus Drive, between State Road 60 and Hwy 574.
Advisory Office: 813-253-7802; Financial Aid Office: 253-7835.
Hillsborough Community College's Honor Institute is located here, and there are many classes available toward an Associate in Arts degree.

Plant City Campus:
1206 N. Park Road, near I4 exit 22.
Advisory Office: 813-757-2102; Financial Aid Office: 757-2105.
Houses the college's Horticultural Center, continuing education courses, university transfer courses and technical course credits.

Ybor City Campus:
In Tampa's exciting Historic Latin Quarter, east of Tampa proper.
Advisory Office: 813-253-7602; Financial Aid Office: 253-7635.
Houses the college's Performing Arts Center, Work Force and Public Safety Training Center. Specialties include child care, computer programming, business management, education, fire sciences, theatre arts, and criminal justice training.

Hillsborough Community College also has two satellite campuses, one near MacDill Air Force Base and the other in Ruskin, considered the South Shore area. Online coursework is available.

On the other side of Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, is Eckerd College, sometimes considered a Community College because of its easy access to area students who can commute home every day. Eckerd College is known nationwide for its wide range of undergraduate studies (approximately 40 different majors) including those harder to find at community colleges like Languages, Biochemistry, International Relations & Global Affairs, Marine Sciences and Religious Studies.

Eckerd also has entry level programs to higher degrees like pre-Law, pre-Dentistry, Engineering and pre-Veterinary Medicine, and Online courses which can be seen at this link.

    Community colleges are important. Danville Community College gave me a wonderful foundation for a four year school after being out of school for about 20 years. It's also a great value and can save you thousands of dollars.
