The real estate market is always tricky. One year it is a buyer's market and the next it is a seller's market. The value of any given home is dependent to a great degree on the community that it is located. If the community is great, then the value of the homes in the community will be improved. If you are looking for a way to make the value of your home increase, then consider beautifying your community with lush gardens. These gardens can be community gardens or private gardens that grace the yards of the residents in the community.

Community Gardens

A great way to enhance the appeal of a community is to design and develop a community gardens. Community gardens can be started by talking to the local neighborhood association or the city about a place to put the garden and what you plan on doing with it. Often times a community can volunteer to take care of a parcel of land in the city that is currently being neglected or tended by city landscapers. When the community takes over the patch of ground it will be their responsibility to prep the land, plant flowers and other vegetation and to care for the plants.

Private Gardens

Private gardens can also be a great option for beautifying a community. Private gardens can be encouraged in a neighborhood by having a community leader set up a meeting that offers gardening tips, supplies and suggestions on how to produce a native vegetation garden. Communities can even set up themes for the gardens so that their neighborhood will have an attraction that will drive up property values and that will attract the attention of tourists and garden lovers.

Planning a Neighborhood Garden Tour

After your hard work establishing private and community gardens it is a good idea to show them off. An easy way to do this is to establish a walking garden tour of your neighborhood. You can place plaques outside the gardens to tell visitors what they are seeing and who was responsible for the garden's design. You can enhance the visibility of these tours by linking them with historical tours and architectural tours that are offered by local tour groups or your local chamber of commerce.

Garden Design Ideas

There are several options that you have for garden designs. The most basic garden design is a simple border flower bed. These border gardens can quickly add color and interest to the edges of walkways and to property lines. If you are looking for something more complex, then consider theme gardens. The themes can range from native plants to exotic plants.

This is a wonderful idea. I live near several dandelion farms that could look so much better.
