If you are considering moving to Logan, Ohio there are several things that will be helpful with your transition to life in this area. Columbus is about fifty miles north of Logan. Logan is a small city with very few job options. Many businesses in the downtown area are closing. Logan seems to be returning to its Olde Towne roots as many companies are moving towards the East End of Logan.

The Hocking Hills was recently recognized for being one of the most dog friendly destinations in the United States. For vacationers this may be true. For renters it is a night mare. Most rentals available in Logan are adamant about NO PETS. The very few rentals that will consider allowing a dog on the property require an outrageous amount of a pet deposit in addition to your security deposit.

Rent in Logan, Ohio ranges from $250 per month to $800 per month. If you move onto the Second Street area, you will find cheap rent, but you pay for what you get. These cheap apartments are not nice and you will feel like you are slumming it. The Hocking County area offers many trailers for rent also, but the rent on a trailer usually is about $450 to $500 per month. In some cases these trailers are pretty bad. It would not be a pleasant life in some rental trailers. In town the average rent on a nice and clean apartment will cost from $400 to $600 depending on how many bedrooms. Logan also has many houses for rent with in the same prices as nice apartments.

Logan has several churches and banks. Logan however does not have a city pool or many activities for the youth of the community. The city of Logan is notorious for not liking kids. Logan is virtually crime free. Logan is a quiet town and a safe place to live. Not much goes on in Hocking County. Logan publishes a ten page daily newspaper, has a Wal-Mart, and also a pharmacy, several gas stations, a library and a hand ful of shops and restaurants. If you move to Logan, you should plan on commuting to Columbus for work, as there are not many options in Logan.

Logan is a part of the Logan hocking school Distict, with in the next two years all of the schools in this distict will be new. Logan has 5 elementary schools, a middle school, a high school and an alternative school. The education provided the children is excellent. Logan high school students also have the option to attend the vocational school in Nelsonville, or attend classes at Hocking College in Nelsonville Ohio.

The weather in the Hocking Hills region is lovely in the spring and fall. Logan normally experiences a drought in the summer; it is very hot and humid. The winters are on average very mild. The Hocking Hills offers hunting and boating, arts and crafts and unique accommodations.
