In Laurelville you will find a nice homes, quiet streets and friendly people. Life moves at a slower pace in Laurelville Ohio. There is not much to do in Laurelville and people don't get in a hurry. AS I am not a resident of Laurelville, I find the people to be oddly quirky. I reside in neighboring Gibisonville Ohio. I always laugh when I visit Laurelville. Laurelvillians, as we call them are very quirky. You can tell not many people visit this small town, and it is basically cut off from the rest of the world. This does not say the residents are rude, or bad. Laurelvillians march to the beat of their own drum, and possibly some residents still believe the world is flat. You will encounter people who are country to a t. t Shirts frequently seen in Laurelville usually involve a saying about a tractor, FFA, or football.
In Laurelville you will find a Family Dollar and a Dollar Discount store. Young's Grocery offers groceries, a bank, and a pharmacy as well as a deli and bakery. Laurelville has one gas station, a hardware and automotive store. As well as two restaurants, a sawmill, a feed store, a library and a school. The town of Laurelville might have a pizza shop also. I could not determine if it was closed for a few hours or permanently.
Laurelville offers an abundance of trailers for rent. Not many houses are on the market, but there are always a few low rent apartments to be had also. These usually are not overly lovely. There are not many jobs to be had in Laurelville. Most residents work for Brad Young the owner of the grocery store; gas station and dollar discount shop. Some Laurelvillians are employed at the Saw Mill, or they commute to Circleville for work. Rent is somewhat steep in Laurelville. Most trailers for rent are in pretty terrible condition. The average rent for a dilapidated trailer is near five hundred dollars per month. Also good luck finding anything for rent in Laurelville that allows pets.
There are virtually no entertainment possibilities in Laurelville. Laurelville offers very few activities other than fish fry's to benefit the volunteer fire department in nearby Adelphia. The annual Fireman's Festival is held in July each year and this draws the majority of visitors to the area.

Post a CommentGreat small town with just enough small business to get just about anything you may need and if not, Circleville, Chillicothe, Logan, or Lancaster all are within 20 miles so it makes it nice. Living out in the country on our hill.........you can't beat it and as the previous poster said......sipping the beer and sitting on top of our hill and looking for miles and miles watching the sunset!
I lived in laurelville for more than a year, and loved every minute of it. Growing up in BUSY Columbus, Laurelville was a nice change of pace. I dont know what the pervious writer was talking about in saying Laurelvillians are "quirky", they are just friendly, small town folks who enjoy it that way. Nothing "Quirky" about them. They, unlike most people, mind their own business.
He is right in saying there isnt anything to really do there. no movie theather, no skating rinks, no bowling. But the nights rocking on the front porch with a cold one is just as nice......and way cheaper!
Circleville isnt too far off and there is pleanty to do there.
