Community Love

Paul Roberts
It was Deacon Kevin who had the thought,
this old church could use fixing up.
So we all went and gathered what we had,
started fixing this and that.
Women folks brought us all good eats,
be wanting to marry one, if you know what I mean.
Community Love.

Now young man Johnson works down at the feed store,
got the call he and his unit were off to war.
We all wrote him letters and sent him stuff,
told him that we missed him and wished him good luck.
Man we all had flags and the square was packed,
we all turned out to wish him and his unit back.
Community Love.

Now around here it doesn't take much to break out the fiddle and start the grill,
it could be as important as a wedding or just time to kill,
either way we mind our manners, tell everyone is welcome, it really don't matter.
Cause if your neighbors are in the middle of the fuss,
well then they cant complain if we turn the music up!
Community Love.
