Community Supported Agriculture Programs in the Portland Area

Eat Fresh, Eat Local

E.A. Anne
Most CSAs run off of a "share" system-you, as a consumer, purchase a "share" of the farm's produce. By purchasing the share, you will be delivered (or will pick up) fresh produce each week for around 30 weeks of the year (depending on the farm). Because the food is being grown locally, as a CSA shareholder, you will only receive food that is currently in season (do no not expect melons or peaches in the winter-those are imported from abroad). You will learn to appreciate different local foods, and expand your cooking horizons. Your kitchens will be packed with healthy, fresh produce for your consumption.
