Companies' Celebration of Earth Week

Companies can observe Earth Week, to show how much they care for the earth and it's precious resources. It is observed every year on 28th of March. This would be a good way to project that we should care for wild life, nature and work to preserve the environment. There could be a lot of activities which can be introduced to bring the awareness about going green among the employees.

Companies could observe Earth Week by holding a contest where each employee could be encouraged to give ideas and suggestions of how to reduce waste and promote saving of the earth's resources. The employees would come out with ideas as recycling of paper, switching out lights and fans when not in use, minimizing use of air-conditioners and so on. The best and unique solution could be given a prize.

You could ask all your employees, suppliers, and other companies in the industry to observe Earth Week. They could be encouraged to hang banners like, " Do not Cut The Trees, Use Those Waste Paper For Sending Notices", "Switch Off Those Air-Conditioners In The Evening, Work Under The Fan, It's So Cool", and " Save That Drop Of Water, It Could Become An Ocean For Your Children".

The company could hold a lunch party on the eve of Earth Hour with green-themed meals to observe Earth Week. It could be time when the fans are switched off and the employees used hand - made fans to fan themselves. During the Earth Hour, around 8:30 pm on 28th March a candle light dinner party, could be organized with no lights at all. The menu could be pure vegetarian. This observance could very well project what you want to tell others.

Creating an Earth Hour section , where all the employees could post their ideas how they should observe Earth Week, with photos posted after the Earth Hour celebrations would be real great. You could also make your website black, turning all the letters white to observe Earth Week. Attractive slogans could also be added.

You could organize a meet to take a pledge to observe Earth Hour to preserve earth and it's precious resources like fuel, wild life, flora and fauna. You could also send e-mails to all your employees and other companies to ask them to observe the Earth Hour and switch off all lights at 8:30 pm on that day. In the meeting various discussions could be held how to save fuel, water, energy and all those rare and precious resources of Mother Earth.

Besides, during Earth Week competitions in making recycled products could be organized. A prize could be given to the best recycled product. Besides, some booklets having various recycling ideas could be given to all who take part.

An art competition could be organized on the weekend where the children of the employees could take part. The theme could be on Environment or Mother Earth and their imagination could be kindled to project how they wish to show their contribution to this cause. Green refreshments could be given and each participant could be given a recycled product like a notepad.

You could show that you observe Earth Week by broadcasting all that you did during the week on TV, radio and as a news item in the newspaper. Besides you could put advertisements in newspapers, television, and radio about your company celebrating Earth Week and ask everyone to follow methods to save nature and it's precious resources.

Other competitions like getting maximum signatures for a pledge to save nature, it's flora and fauna could be organized as a way to observe Earth Day. Employees could be asked to get their relatives, friends and suppliers to sign it.

Your company would be doing something great by observing Earth Week and spreading the message of conservation of the earth.
