Company Breaks World Record for Video Game Character Costumes

A costume company in suburban Milwaukee called Buyseasons INC just earned the bragging rights to say they officially broke the world record for most video game character costumes gathered together in one place. This fun and exciting event took place Oct 5 and as a huge video game fan, I'm only sorry I was not there to see it myself.

Both employees of the company and members of the community gathered together in costumes that represented everything from Pac-Man to characters from the Mortal Combat video games. Everyone socialized and had lots of fun as the judges from the Guinness Book of World Records did the official count of the participants. The old record set back in May of 2009 featured 376 people dressed in video game costumes and it took place in London during a gaming convention.

A New Record is Set

The entry was validated and the new record now stands at 425 video game fans wearing character costumes in one place at same time. It's pretty awesome and I can't imagine it being beaten anytime soon. It would be hard to get over 400 people together in one place at the same time and in video game cosplay but imagine what a party that would be?

Personally, I wish I had been in Wisconsin and had the opportunity to take part in this huge event. It's hard to say what my costume would have been. It would be a tough choice between Lara Croft of Tomb Raider and Princess Rosalina from Mario. What video game costume would you have worn if you were there?
