Comparedby.us - A Scam or Not?
I was on the site for almost a month a half now because I was referred by one of my friends. The site was so promising so I was encouraged in participating to them. I wrote several product and merchant reviews for them. I made sure that I wrote quality reviews because I'm not used in plagiarising and low level writings. I received $20 last December 21, 2008 for my reviews. Since I was sure that the site really pays, I wrote another 20 complete reviews and 19 quick reviews. My quick reviews are above 500 characters each and all of them are the first reviews of the merchants listed on their website. They pay another $1 bonus for first reviews. I accumulated an amount equivalent to $41.75 so I requested a payment from them. The site says my request was successful. They said that they will pay on January 20, 2009.
Just this morning, I was shocked when I received their email saying that my reviews are incomprehensible and they deleted all my reviews. I was very devastated because I spent a lot of my time just to create those reviews. My reviews are all proof read and are well structured.
Here's the exact email that I received:
"Our editorial team has flagged your account as unacceptable. The reviews that you have submitted to ComparedBy.Us are written in broken, barely comprehensible English. Unfortunately they do not meet our quality requirements for good reviews.
As a result, we have deleted all of the reviews that you have submitted to ComparedBy.Us and rejected any outstanding payment requests. Since you seem to have made a legitimate effort to contribute valuable content to ComparedBy.Us we have left your account active. If you wish to continue to submit reviews to our site please make a more concerted effort to write in clear, concise English. If the new content that you submit is editorially acceptable we will pay you for them.

So to those still writing for the company, I hope you can learn from my experience. They will not accept even your quality reviews. I know a lot of you might think that I made some low level reviews but I will not be posting this article here if I was guilty of their accusations.
I will never write for them again.

Post a CommentI've had my own headaches with this place..number one they keep changing their policies and have just done it again...I had money due me too..but now looks like I won't be paid anytime soon either due to the new policies
Why would anyone want to spend hours writing reviews for $1 / article ... this and others are obvious Intellectual Property scams ... they sell your reviews for $500 in turn. Seeing as they rejected your reviews as incomprehensible suggests to me they were never going to pay you in the first place and .... now the cheeky sods want you to write more ... SUE THEM!!!!!!!
