In the Binghamton, NY there are two Denny's restaurants. One of them is located only 1 mile from the Binghamton, NY area while the other Denny's restaurant is located on Front Street, about 5 miles away from the other Denny's. The Denny's on Front Street is significantly fancier than the other Denny's located near the Binghamton University. It has nice lighting and nicer chairs and it slightly bigger. The Dennis on Front Street is also a lot less crowded than the other Denny's since the one next to campus is always crowded with Binghamton University students who grab a late breakfast. One of the great things about the Denny's restaurants is that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The waiters and waitresses are also extremely nice and refill your coffee or beverage several times while you sit and eat your food. The prices are the Denny's restaurants I have found to be very expensive compared to other restaurants that serve breakfast or other diners. A stack of pancakes will cost you around $6 and an omelet is around $8. I have found the International House of Pancakes IHOP restaurant to be much cheaper.
The next breakfast place that I recommend is Porto Bagel. Like its name says, it is a bagel store and they have perhaps the best bagels in town. They open at 6 am and they have a huge variety and selection f almost every type of bagel. They also have a huge selection of spreads like cream cheese, lox, whitefish, etc. The prices are very cheap. For example, a bagel with a scrambled egg is only $1 which is really dirt cheap. The store has plenty of tables and chairs and the atmosphere is very nice there. The Porto Bagel Restaurant is located right next to the Denny's restaurant which is also right next to the Binghamton University Campus.
Another popular breakfast place that is also great and specializes in bagels is the Bagel Factory. The Bagel Factory is located near the University Plaza residential area. The Bagel factory is somewhat small but the bagels taste great and are always fresh. The prices aren't as cheap as the Porto Bagel restaurant but the prices are still very reasonable. The service is very good and quick.
Then there is the Dunkin Donuts shop where I have not had pleasant experiences. It seems like the store owner is rushing you in and out of the store. This is partly due to the fact that the store is so small with only 4 small tables and less than 10 chairs. The people and store owner are not nice people and you can't sit down in the store for more than a half an hour without being chased away. The donuts do taste good and Dunkin Donuts is one of the very rare places that you can buy donuts. The coffee is very good and brewed fresh daily.
Finally, there is the IHOP restaurant. The prices there are very cheap in comparison to Denny's and the food and service are exceptional. If you want pancakes, eggs, potatoes, sausage, ham or potatoes this is definitely the place to go.
