Comparison Between the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V

When it comes to comparing two particular SUV's the process starts with what you are looking for and what type of features you want. Some extras come standard; others are special orders, while other amenities that you may want are not available at all on the make and model that you are interested in.

The base price for the RAV4 starts at around $24,915, while the CR-V starts around $26,665 (truedelta.com, 2010). As features are added, the price goes up when comparing the Honda CRV vs. the Toyota RAV4. If all of the features that can be added as extras are added into the price, the final cost of the RAV4 would be $29,700 and the CR-V would sell for $30,675. When it comes to the price comparison between the two SUVs', the comparison shows that financially, the better deal would be to purchase the Toyota RAV4.

When it comes to comparing the basic features of these two vehicles it seems that they are both fairly equal (truedelta.com, 2010). The engine sizes are equivalent, as are the tires and transmissions; and they are both all wheel drive. The differences begin from there, and that is why it is important to know exactly what you want in features before you make a decision of the RAV4 vs. the CR-V. The list of features that are stock, that are add-ons, and that are not available is too consuming to go into in this article, but the website listed below shows a complete table comparison of the two vehicles. Once again, during a comparison of the two SUV's, the Toyota RAV4 is the better choice.

Safety ratings are one of the most important aspects to compare, and when it comes to the RAV4 vs. the CR-V there are a few differences. The NHTSA rated the Toyota RAV4 during a front end collision as having a five star rating on the driver's side, but only a four star rating on the passenger side (autos.aol.com, 2010). On the other hand, the Honda CR-V received a five star rating on both aspects of the front end crash test. During the comparison between the CR-V and the RAV4 the safest SUV, between the two, is the Honda CR-V.

The Toyota RAV4 is the best choice when comparing the Honda CR-v vs. the Toyota RAV-4. It is more cost effective for the price, and the extra features that can be added are much better on the RAV4. The safety ratings are high on the scale of being safe, and even though the passenger side is slightly weaker than the driver's side, it is still at the top of the scale. Safety, price, and features all make the Toyota RAV4 the best choice when it comes to comparing these two SUV's.
