"On the Subjection of Women" is about how women have to be looked at and valued, because without letting them have a place to flourish, society would never see what they could accomplish. If society does not let women flourish, they are missing out on fifty percent of their people that could be doing great things. The whole point of this was to address the fact that women have been in the shadows for too long and are just as talented and can be just as educated as men, so they should not be ignored. Instead, they should be allowed the ability to explore their creative and brilliant sides.
"On Liberty" talks about the fact that the society should allow individuals to flourish and not be suppressed by their government and their society. He argues that individuality has to be appreciated and allowed to progress, because without that, the society could be missing out on a lot. They would be missing out of these people that could be great artists, leaders, doctors, or anything. Because they don't appreciate them, they don't see that.
Both of these articles express the importance of individualism. While it may be important to contribute to society and be a part of it, not letting people express their individualism ultimately hurts their society. So, instead of making them be a part of something and conforming, they must be allowed to flourish in themselves. Then society will become stronger and so will each person inside of it that finds that individualism inside of their society.
