Complete Guide to Adjusting Your Laptop Mouse Settings

If you are left handed and you have a laptop that you'd like to customize to your liking, then here you find out how to do that. If you just want to view all of your mouse settings to see what's going on there, then you will learn how to do that also by reading this article. I will walk you through the process of opening your Mouse Properties panel, and then I will explain what you can do in each tab that will come up.

1. Go to Start, find the Control Panel button, click on it and wait for it to open.

2. Look for the Printers and Other Hardware icon and click on it.
Tip: If you have your Control Panel set to Classic View, you will just have to click on the Icon that has a Mouse on it.

3. Once you do this, you will have Mouse Properties window open. Now you can chose to view all of the things that are related to your pointing device.

The tabs that will show and what you can do:

- Devices: Here you can enable or disable your TouchPad or TourchPad Buttons. You can also chose to disable the TouchPad when you use an external mouse.

- Pointers: In this tab you will be able to customize what your mouse looks like normally and in certain circumstances.

- Pointers Options: The pointer options will allow you to control the mouse speed, where it snaps to at startup, the visibility of it, and you can even chose to hide the mouse while you're typing and more.

- Wheel: If you have a laptop that lets you scroll down the page without having to click on the arrows, then here you can adjust how many lines your screen goes down when you use the mouse to scroll down.

- Hardware: This screen will show you the devices that are installed on your computer, and you will be able to view the properties of those devices.

- Buttons: If your laptop mouse comes with buttons, then here you will be able to change how they work. You can chose to switch the buttons to work better for you if you're left handed also.

- EdgeMotion: This is a neat screen! You'll be able to see and tell your laptop how to let your finger control the touch pad.

- Gestures: In here you'll be able to enable tap zones, and also adjust certain scrolling options.

- Other: Here you'll find out how to get your mouse to only stay onscreen, you'll be able to remove the tray icon form the taskbar, and you'll also be able to see patent information.

- TouchPad: If you're able to tap on your touchpad to highlight or click on certain things then in this tab you will be able to customize that.
