Complete List of New Movies Released in Theaters September 2010

There is a wide variety of films released in theaters September of 2010. This compact list will help in choosing which films to see. Below you will find a general list and a limited engagement list. Due to the number of films, I only provided a short premise for the films that will be released nationwide along with their respective genres and rating. For the limited engagement list there is provided genres and rating when applicable.

September 1

The American - Based on the book, A Very Private Gentlemen by Martin Booth; an American assassin reluctantly agrees to do one last job while trying to live a normal life in Italy. (Drama, Thriller; Rated R)

September 3

Going the Distance - A man and a woman have a difficult time letting go of their summer fling and agree to have a long distance relationship from opposite coasts. (Romantic Comedy; Rated R)

Machete - A federal agent's family is killed by the same people who employed him. After their death, he sets out to avenge their murders by killing his employers. (Action, Adventure; Rated R)

September 10

Resident Evil: Afterlife (3D/2D theaters and IMAX 3D) - Continues Alice's story that began five years ago when a virus was released and turned people into zombies. (Action, Horror; Rated R)

The Virginity Hit - Matt attempts to lose his virginity all the while his friends insist on filming the before, during, and after process as things don't go as originally planned. (Comedy; Rated R)

September 17

Alpha and Omega - Two wolfs, one considered an alpha and the other an omega, are captured and released in a new area to repopulate. Both set out on an adventure to get back home. (Animation, Adventure; Rated PG)

Devil - Five strangers are trapped in an elevator inside of a tall building. The five experience paranormal-like events inside the stuck elevator while one of them is the devil. (Horror, Thriller; Rated PG-13)

Easy A - An average high school girl decides to help out her gay friend by pretending to be his girlfriend and sleep with him. Soon all the low-on-their-luck guys come knocking on her door to help them out too which in turn ruins her reputation. (Romantic, Comedy; Rated PG-13)

The Town - A group of bank robbers take a hostage that leaves her traumatized. One of the bank robbers than injects himself into her life and falls in love with her, all the while she has no idea who he really is as the FBI is hot on his trail. (Crime, Drama; Rated R)

September 24

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (3D/2D theaters and IMAX 3D) - Based on the book series Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky in which an owl sets off on an adventure to find the guardian owls of Ga'Hoole. (Animation, Adventure, Fantasy; Rated PG)

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps - Set twenty years after the first film, Wall Street. Gordon Gekko is released from prison and presumably is trying to do good deeds in Wall Street while attempting to mend his broken relationship with his daughter through the help of her fiancé. (Drama; Rated PG-13)

You Again - Marni discovers that her brother is about to marry the one girl who made her high school days miserable, Joanna. Gail, Marni's mother, then discovers that Joanna's aunt is Ramona, the one girl who made her high school days miserable. Mother and daughter face off against sister-in-law and aunt. (Comedy; Rated PG)
