As I am prone to breakouts, I've tried many facial moisturizers over the years in search of one that would adequately hydrate my dry facial skin, but also not cause breakouts. Some research on the Internet led me to Complex 15 Therapeutic Moisturizing Lotion. This lotion is labeled as being hypoallergenic, noncomedgenic and fragrance-free.
This lotion comes in an 8-ounce white plastic bottle with a pop-up top. The packaging is simple and straightforward ... nothing fancy, just like the lotion itself.
The lotion is opaque white and is of medium consistency. Although the manufacturer states that it is unscented, I do detect a bit of a scent that I don't think is strong enough to bother those with the most sensitive skin. In order to prepare my facial skin for the product, I exfoliate first as I experience much better results.
I notice how creamy the lotion is when I dispense a dime-sized amount onto my fingers, and rub my palms together to distribute the product. I then tap the product all over my face and neck, then smooth in circular motions so as to ensure even distribution. Immediately, my face no longer feels tight or irritated. Even if my skin is red from being wind-burned, this product does not irritate my skin at all. There is no residue after letting it soak in.
Waiting for the product to soak in before applying makeup takes only a couple of minutes. Whether I'm using liquid or powdered mineral foundation, it goes on much more smoothly after using Complex 15, and my skin looks better after applying my makeup as I've started with a smoother canvas.
After all day wear, my skin still appears wonderfully moisturized, and doesn't look greasy as some moisturizers can cause it to appear. Removal of the product is generally done in the shower with my normal skin cleanser, and I have no trouble removing this product. As such, my skin does sometimes go back to appearing a little dry, but that usually stops after a few days of continued use of this moisturizer.
I buy my Complex 15 Therapeutic Lotion at Ulta, but I've also seen it on many websites, as well as behind the counter at my local Wal-Mart pharmacy.
If you have combination skin that needs help in drier areas, I'd recommend giving this product a try.
