The time has come for me to purchase a laptop for doing some work with my ACT Course Online.
Laptops are very complicated instruments if you ask me.
You want to make sure you have enough hard drive space and RAM. You have to decide what size screen you want. There are choices for all kinds of add-ons and many different times of supplemental drives for CD and DVD.
Are you going to need to create word documents and spreadsheets? What manufacturer are you going to choose and what operating System will be right for you? You don't want to overspend but then you want to make sure you have enough computers. You almost certainly will need wireless capability. Are you going to be downloading videos or music?
My sons are big into Apple Computers and as I look at the possibilities there it becomes more complicated. My computer technician doesn't think Apples are a good idea because of the Windows world we live in. he says it will present a lot of frustrating problems doing things I do now on my Desktop which is Windows based.
I am getting lots of advice and the cost could range anywhere from $499 to $4,000. That is one heck of a price range.
The best part is all I know is that I turn on my computer now and it does what I want it to do. I guess if you buy a name brand mid-range laptop you will probably be ok but the choices are challenging and bewildering. There are resources that can help somewhat.
